Saddened. They advertise on the radio that they’re looking for foster parents to help children and that it’s all about the children but yet they turned away loving, experienced, willing, and previously licensed foster parents because we didn’t express joy at having to spend 3 consecutive Saturdays of 7 hours each retaking a class that we had previously taken. We were told that there would be a fall series of 7 Thursday evenings of 3 hours each and we were happy for that option. But evidently, because we expressed hesitation in wanting to do the Saturday classes, we’re “not a good fit”. Also, because I mentioned adoption, that wasn’t good either? So if someone really wants to help children and work with 4Kids, put on your Stepford Wives smile and express nothing but joy or they’ll reject you. It saddens me that our hesitation (not unwillingness) is a more important issue than helping a child. Losing sight of the most important issue 😔 Funny thing, we expressed reservations about taking the long class when we initially got licensed through Place of Hope about 8 years ago but they were more understanding and kept the focus on helping the children. Sadly, this organization doesn’t seem to have that as their true main focus. I pray that they reevaluate their hearts and get their main focus on helping kids. God will lead us to an organization less focused on themselves and more focused on the children. James 1:27 👍😊🙏🏻
