This park is incredible. It starts with an optional ($3) boat ride down the creek to get to the park entrance from the main visitors center. From there you enjoy self guided exploration of the spring area, watching fish and manatees (depending on the season). The wildlife walk of native Florida animals that are there for rehabilitation is incredibly informative. Awesome state park.

It's a very unique type of nature center, what's a boat ride to get there, That is worth the trip in and of itself. It's more of an animal rescue with abandoned florida animals that need housing. The spaces are ample generally, and the boardwalk is very easily accessible. It's extremely kid friendly, and I would imagine wheelchair friendly as well. The value for what you pay is probably the best value of anything on this coast. I highly recommend the visit.

This is a trip I take every year at this time. What a beautiful place to go . It’s very friendly, And at 13 bucks for an entire day of relaxation, And walking, And enjoying all the beautiful animals that are rescued here is a site to see . Beautiful manicured and well maintained you can not go wrong. Ample parking and easy access is wonderful. Taking the boat ride out is a must, but you can take the free shuttle. This is a very kids friendly place. Easy walking. Beautiful animals and all the fish . Least we not forget that the lagoon is here with the beautiful floating big potato, Manatee are usually abundant. And easily visible. One of my top notch places to go and always enjoy the area . This area has so much to offer

Excellent place to get out and walk around and enjoy the state park. However, a few things are not open due to hurricane damage. The lower gift shop and restrooms are closed along with the underwater exploratory which sucks as the manatees come right up to it. When you park at the main entrance you will enter the park either via boat ride (there is an extra fee for it) or by trame however you can also walk the park trail which we did on the way back and highly recommend it. It's an easy nice walk through the forest. The park is nice and clean and you basically walk in a large circle due to some of the bridges being closed. The animals are neat to see as most are out active. If you come with small children be prepared as the places to get food or drinks in the park are not open and there is a lot of walking. There where 2 manatees in the bay when we came through. The staff is nice and friendly but the cost can add up quickly with entrance fees and boat ride fees etc.

Had an amazing time!!! Go early in the morning you’ll get to see more manatees! Before the crowds show up. Lu the hippo is 65 and we got so close to see them! The fish bowl wasn’t open due to hurricane damage but still had a great time! Highly recommend

This place is worth every penny. Here’s what to expect…park in the large parking lot, go inside to pay (disabled veterans get in free), you can brake the free shuttle to the wildlife center or pay a small fee for a boat ride. The wildlife center is incredibly well done. Each animal here is a rescue and unable to live in the wild. The habitats are great for each animal. Nice walkways and plenty of space. The springs were super nice as well. And if you like to Geocache, they have those there too! Kiddos to FL for doing such a great job!

Plan on close to a full day to see everything—and wear comfortable clothing and shoes. We took the boat to get to the main part of the park and found the education en route very worthwhile. Lu, the 65 year old hippopotamus, is the starred attraction, but we enjoyed watching the male pelicans fight (no harm done), all the exotic native birds, the Florida red wolf, the reptile and snake exhibit—and of course, the manatees at feeding time. We ended up walking back to the entry of the park, which is about .75 miles. Steve and I enjoyed our day immensely!

Beautiful park. Be sure to go when the tide is up to see the manatees. They come in with the tide. The fish bowl was closed due to hurricane damage. The hippo 🦛 was awesome. Easy walk around park. Nice animal exhibits. Got there too late to do the boat tour over to the park but tram ride was pleasant. Really good value for the money. Park staff were exceptionally nice. Unlike three sisters springs they don't allow "swimming" with the manatees. Which to me is wonderful. After seeing the harassment by people to the manatees at that park that should not be allowed. All around a beautiful park.
