train your staff to know all policies and procedures. if the building isn't accepting new patients, tell the receptionist that. nobody should be calling people back if they aren't aware of what the clinic's procedures are.
you never know what someone is going through- a place seen as a last hope for someone should be a bit more compassionate- but honestly, it's all about how you get paid, right? warning to my fellow military/ tricare families.

My therapist is amazing.
She patiently listens to all of my concerns, not insisting on sticking to "a script". I feel comfortable talking to her about anything and have seen much improvement in my life with just a few sessions.
I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else.
Thank you!

I would advise anyone who wants help for their family not to go here. I was charged $600.00 for first intake appointment that was covered by my employer. They will not return calls and will make every excuse as to why they can't help. It's not a good place to go if you and a family member are already under stress. These people will just add to it.

I had a terrible experience with this facility. I was referred to Stephanie Kool but for some reason was placed with Jeri Gentry, who’s psychologist license was revoked after our second or third session. She was quite the opposite of helpful during our sessions. She was cold and used her own personal experiences as excuses in what I had experienced. One time I showed up for my session and she said she was too busy to see me. She still charged my insurance for it.

I went to Desert Sage Health for general counseling. After a super-intense questionnaire and intake interview, I was matched with a counselor. She did not provide any helpful tools and didn't provide much direction. The only thing she did was send me a few articles to read via email. I subsequently asked to switch to someone else. The 2nd counselor was judgmental, and I almost walked out during our first session. I did not return after that. While the facility is nice and their services were covered (with a $40.00 co-pay) by insurance - this counseling center did nothing to help me. While it is nice to have counseling covered by insurance - going private-pay is a better option. I went to The Sanity Center (private-pay) and have been extremely happy. It was a totally different experience.

From my initial appointment with the intake doctor to both virtual and in person appointment with Dr. Lori, I have been so pleased with Desert Sage. The intake consisted of a thorough battery of evaluations and inventories, allowing the doctor to pair me with the therapist that best meets my needs. Lori is wonderful. She is kind and attentive and adept. She remembers the most insignificant details of our conversations, presents solutions and modalities in an incredibly approachable way, and is just really, really pleasant to be around. So grateful to have found her.

Great facility and staff. One of the better mental health experiences I have had. Pay no attention to the low star reviews from people salty about their therapist leaving. That's on the therapist, not Desert Sage as an aggregate provider of mental health professionals. Also realize that someone's "bad" experience might be because they were told something they didn't want to hear but needed to...or they weren't fully ready to unpack issues and do the hard work required to get through them. Give Desert Sage a shot if you're serious about getting the help you need.

Doesn’t care about patients. I was being seen here for awhile when my therapist suddenly left the company. I was fine with that and just assumed I’d get a new therapist. No one ever reached out to place me with another therapist. Weeks went by as my mental health deteriorated. I ended up calling and there was availability on the day and time I usually came in. They told me there was availability on that day for the following weeks so I scheduled about 5 weeks worth since it had been so long that I’d talked to someone, I was so desperate. My appointment was today via telehealth which I had been looking forward to. I was greeted by Stacy who I remembered meeting once before and so I was happy to see her because I felt there was a good connection when I did but she didn’t have the availability. However that happiness was not mutual. She immediately goes into recalling that when we met I said that I would feel more comfortable with someone else, which wasn’t true. Then she starts telling me how she’s not sure she can commit to seeing me because I can’t have this day and time dedicated to me because her other clients need it. It immediately did not feel like a safe space and it honestly felt hostile. She goes on to tell me in several different ways how other clients need this spot and that i should think about what my plans are after these 5 appointments. I definitely felt pushed aside. I did not feel welcomed. So I told her I would cancel the appointments and find someone else. That was the appointment. A 15-20 minute call about how she can’t work with me. I got absolutely NOTHING out of that but I’m sure she’ll still be paid for that “session”. I hung up and immediately burst into tears. I will never come back here and I don’t recommend any new patients to come here either.
