I am highly saddened by seeing low reviews for this company. I’ve been a patient with A Better Therapy for a few years now. I started out as self pay and the rates were affordable and my first counselor, Shinell, was awesome. She was so sweet and helpful and exactly what I needed at the beginning of my journey.

Then, I got insurance and had to switch doctors. I was scared and hesitant as I had spent several months with Shinell at this point and had bonded with her, but then I met Perry.

Perry has been incredible. My life and the way I handle myself, my emotions, and other people has improved dramatically. I have improved in ways I never thought possible. I have successfully handled some tremendously difficult situations with Perry’s help. Perry is ALWAYS there, and I mean always. Unless he is with a patient, he answers any time day or night. He is so committed to his work, he’s even in the office on holidays! His dedication to his job and to his patients is his top priority and it shows. I have nothing negative to say about A Better Therapy and I highly recommend them.

I am very sad to see some of the one-star reviews for A Better Therapy. My experience is a little bit different. We are referred to this company by 211 hotline crisis team after my oldest son had a very extreme tantrum. We are self paying with this counseling service, and their fee is affordable $55 per session considering self paying. Claudia who takes care of the initial phone calls to set up and billing is very nice. Our counselor, Perry, will come to our house every Friday consistently to talk to my son. This saves us two hours of driving to another counseling place that we went to and pulling my son out of school early. Unlike our first counselor from a different place who charged us way more and scheduled her appointments back to back, Perry is wonderful and schedules his appointments far apart so there is never a rush.
I hope that other children in need can find a good service and counselor. It is important to have professional support when children are going through issues. I remember hearing this quote: it is better to raise a healthy child than to fix a broken adult. Best wishes for everyone!

Perry is my family's therapist and has been wonderful thus far. He and his sidekick Chloe were immediately welcomed by my kids. I contacted many other therapists and counseling services prior to this one and most did not return my calls/messages for help. I am grateful that each of us are beginning to feel heard and understood. Great experience.

About 2 weeks ago, I contacted Licensed Mental Health professional, Jennyfer Rios who works for A Better Therapy in Longwood Florida. She was referred to us by someone we know. I called Jennyfer and she never answered the phone. The next day I decided to text her and she replied back. After several text messages, I asked her to please call me to explain the therapy process for my child but It seemed that text messages was the only form of communication with her which was very time consuming and inconvenient to try explain my child's issues over text messages but I was forced to do it this way if I was to expect any kind of answer from this counselor. During the course of 2 weeks of texts messages and several attempts to try to make an appointment with no success only for her to collect my signature and fill out a form and start the counseling process, I gave up on any hope that this counselor was going to be able to help me with my child's counseling needs. She asked me over text messages for personal and sensitive information about my child and I gave it to her with the expectation to promptly start the counseling process, I should've known better however since she was referred to us and I was in desperate need of help for my child I decided to overlook the lack of professionalism and went along with the communication via text messages. I have called A Better therapy twice and I only get their voice mail, so I am now waiting for them to return my phone call to find out about filing a formal complaint about the treatment I received from Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Jennyfer Rios. This person made me lose precious time that I could've utilized to find other resources to help my child. This counselor demonstrated an enormous amount of lack of professionalism as well as lack of sensitivity and human compassion for the mental health of my child. A Better Therapy Inc, should train and expect more from their counselors because it is obvious that sometimes getting a degree is not enough to excel at what you do and Jennyfer Rios demonstrated just that. It was extremely disappointing and frustrating the amount of time this person made me lose over something as simple as filling out a form and collecting some signatures to start the counseling for my child. I hope to never have to go through this experience again. This agencies exists with the purpose to care, help and assist the mental health of people and unfortunately this is not what I found here.

Long story short therapist came to my home for my daughter gave her my daughter's private information she stated she would come back on Friday And that her appointments would be every Friday never seen again no call no show, I find a super weird, I will try giving them a call on Tuesday And add to this review
