I was two months out in my recovery from a broken leg. After visiting two local physical therapy programs my husband and I were nervous about my transition from home healthcare to outpatient services in this time of Covid. We searched online and found Active Physical Therapy, a facility with five-star reviews. I called and Vicki, the receptionist listened carefully to my hesitation about being in a gym with 20+ other patients. She explained that I would be in a room, one-to-one for an hour session with a therapist. Perfect! She scheduled me for an evaluation with Jordan Larson, co-founder of Active Physical Therapy. After two sessions with him I felt confident this was where I wanted to be. He and his team of therapists are experienced, knowledgeable, personable and compassionate. Jordan started me off with exercises I could do at home in bed that he explained would work on strength and stretching muscles I needed to walk again. I have continued with Mary and Cassandra who educate me, provide me feedback and challenging exercises to continue my progress.
You don’t need to break your leg to benefit from the service they provide. They will help you get at the cause of your pain or limitations and teach you how to move throughout your day to the best of your ability. We highly recommend Jordan and his team of professionals at Active Physical Therapy for anyone struggling with mobility issues.

This IS Hands Down the BEST PT practice in Santa Maria. CoFounder, Jordan Larson, has done a great job attracting a talented, caring team! This is a small practice and you will not be in a large open room shared by many others. You will get a private room. It is not a get you in and get you out business model like so many PT practices unfortunately are. If you want to stay active and invest time in your health APT devotes an hour to You! Yes. You! Your time is not shared with someone else that the PT must work with. You will be seen as a whole person, and your lifestyle, interests and activities will be taken into account. And considered important when a treatment plan is developed. And it will be with the goal of getting you back to what you enjoy doing. I've been seeing Audrey who goes the extra mile every time. Vicki, Client Support is wonderful as well.

I have been going to Active Physical Therapy for several years with various physical issues. I had tried other physical therapists before but have found Active Physical Therapy to be far superior in their method of treatment. It is a one on one session each time with a therapist who listens to your needs and helps you understand the best approach to your ailment. Each therapist treats you with respect, kindness and definitely, compassion. I enthusiastically recommend Active Physical Therapy to anyone who needs help navigating the aches and pains that are encountered in our lives and also to those who have ongoing and chronic conditions. My husband had Parkinson’s Disease and Active Physical Therapy helped him adjust to the different disabilities that continually assaulted his body. I am very thankful to them for helping him with a difficult struggle. If you need physical therapy and want outstanding assistance with your ailments, definitely call Active Physical Therapy. Their receptionist, Vicki, is one of the kindest and most helpful receptionist I have encountered.

When I went in the office I was immediately aware , this is not a gym!
I’ve had quite a bit of Physical Therapy in the past and actually like it. I’m always shown ways to work with my body that I can use myself.
This was the most hands on therapy I’ve ever experienced. It was extensive and no machines whatsoever.
Clearly, both therapists knew what they were doing and were able to communicate clearly what they wanted me to do.
I could see a little outside the window, and looking at nature was very pleasing for me. No, no one could see in.
At least one time my Physical Therapist brought her dog along.
He was so well behaved, he was never a distraction.
This is a calming very personal space to have P.T. And ease pain. Everyone was very responsive to my needs.
I would absolutely go back here again if I needed P.T.

The staff at Active Physical Therapy helped me start walking again after an ankle break happened 4 weeks before a month long trip. Victor was very helpful and gave me advice and exercises to get me through my trip, and the staff is very thoughtful and kind. I sought them out for their quiet, calming environment and specialized attention, and was not disappointed! Worth it, and would recommend Active Physical Therapy.

Brandon was my therapist. He was so personable. He helped me with neck and shoulder issues. He instructed me on how to go home to continue my healing. He validated my pain, which I never knew if it was true or a figment of my imagination.
Vicki was also very personable. She always strived to get me a convenient time for my therapy.
Jordan runs a smooth ship. He opens up communications via social media. He responds back when you have a question, which I so appreciate.
Good job, Active Physical Therapy.
