Dr. Aslam saved me!!! I was in very bad shape mentally after Hurricane Ian and the loss of my husband. He was so calm, patient and listened to me. He changed my meds and made me want to socialize, live better, to not be bitter and angry.

Been meaning to leave this review for a while, but I genuinely didn’t want to dwell on it so I’ve left it on the back burner for now.

For being an “addiction specialist” it seems like Dr. Aslam doesn’t want to deal with patients with actual addiction issues and thinks he can speedrun treatment. I understand he probably cares more about how his practice is viewed, or maybe it’s too much extra work, maybe he prefers patients sedated and compliant like they do at salus care (Dr. Aslam is VP and Chief Medical Officer), whatever the reason it’s not just unprofessional but clearly shows a lack of compassion and understanding.

I spent about 5 months with Dr. Aslam trying to get treated but after at least $700 spent i felt that I got no where with him (I actually never got an official diagnosis from him either). He started mentioning the possibility of BPD but then stopped wanting to see me the next week and it ultimately left me more anxious and unsure about my condition which is disappointing that a mental health professional would do that. But ultimately Dr. Aslam was wasting my time so in a way I’m glad he cut ties because I’ve now found much better treatment for a much better price.

I could go on and on about the negatives about Dr. Aslam but he’s in my past and thank god for that!

It saddens me to leave such a review however, when you are licensed to prescribe medication you should be held to a responsibility to that patient. I’m referring to a responsibility of ensuring the patients reaction with and without the prescribed medication.
I only met with Dr Aslam once… all other times were unwillingly with the nurse that was treating his patients he was overbooked with. Dr Aslam was a nice, knowledgeable, and well presented physician who showed real empathy during the visit. He seemed to have his heart in his work. I specifically requested to see him only after my first visit with the nurse. She represented herself as someone who is educated with handling such cases… however after the first introduction I quickly lost all confidence in her. A condescending attitude is unbelievable with regards to a first impression.
One of my last appointments was with Dr Aslam… I specifically told the office, I DO NOT want the nurse. So they call and say im meeting with Dr Aslam. I arrive and wait, then comes the nurse. I asked why am I seeing you… her response “Dr Aslam is with other patients and Im taking over some of his appointments.” It was completely obvious at this point that the office (or the nurse only) has a complete disconnect with communication. Upon leaving she only provided a two week script. By the time I realize I was getting low on medication I called the office. I saved the VM that says I will have the Doc call in a refill. To this day I have not been given more. An abrupt stop to a serious medication has produced an awful withdrawal. I feel like im knocking on deaths doors.
I am reporting the nurse (not the physician) to the Florida Dept of Health as everything I read says to NEVER quit this medication abruptly. The fact my treatment failed to continue is a violation of the oath taken to care for patients.
Aside from no sleep, restless legs, nausea, upset stomach, runny nose, watery eyes, anxiety, depression and thoughts of relapse, I am now going to see a new physician. Very disappointed with the nurse. Im truly sorry for the bad review… Crystal and Dr Aslam are kind and caring people and I want this to be no direct review on them. They are great.

I do not recommend going here if you truly care about your mental health. They do not care and only want your money. They could never call in mine or my husband's scripts to the correct pharmacy, leaving us to call them back multiple times to correct the issue. Then when my husband tried explaining that he thinks he is having a bad reaction to the meds, the doctor wants to chalk it up as an inner ear infection. Ummmm, no. He would know if he had an inner ear infection as there would also be pain and drainage. This doctor doesn't care about his patients' health or mental health. It's just a revolving door for him to get money. They also have a sign that says insurance accepted, but we were told they don't take insurance so we were stuck paying $140 every visit. Do yourself a favor, and get help anywhere but here.

I will be reporting them to the department of health.

I have been going to Dr Zaheer Aslam for a little over a year. I have been to many doctors and physiatrists over the past 12 years that couldn't get my medications and stability correct. From Utah, South Carolina and Miami. He has been exceptional and knowledgeable in what I've needed. Extremely intelligent and none judgemental. It has helped improved my relationships and my career getting the right help from him. During hurricane Ian I was able to get the help I needed. The office always gets back to you quickly. I recommend them to anyone seeking getting help! And to anyone that needs continuous care like I do. The absolute best!
