I am deeply appreciative of being able to see Alvis for counseling during a period of remote work in Florida. This source of support for my health was invaluable!
Logistically, it was simple to get in to see Alvis. The office manager and Alvis keep things organized with text reminders. I also appreciate the flexibility and ability to reschedule with enough notice.
The environment Alvis creates is serene/peaceful and conducive to sharing. That is, it's easy to cry and be vulnerable and feel that you're in a safe, respectful environment where you can share with ease. Alvis upholds those ethical principles foundational to therapy, such as respect and confidentiality.
While my main concerns during therapy revolved around relationship, Alvis was able to help unwrap some of the history/trauma, which is necessary for self-growth.
I felt heard during my sessions with Alvis. He is very knowledgeable about theory and astute in seeing connections, while also making space for practical application in one's daily life. I truly appreciate gaining insights about human behavior in general, and more importantly asking myself questions about my own patterns.
Alvis was always open to questions, listens, and is very empathic. In this way, the counseling was collaborative.
I'm back up north now, but feel especially grateful that I had Alvis's support during a challenging time.

Amazing! I can't say enough good things about this therapist. Provides a safe atmosphere to be open and honest. Some therapists can be a little weird but it feels like talking to a friend/trusted mentor anytime I go to therapy. I've made so much progress already and I can tell I will continue to grow more as a person with Alvis as my therapist 10/10, I highly recommend! I really enjoy the holistic approaches that he takes, I always leave feeling more clear headed about where I am at and what I can do next.
