“You can have therapy with yourself for all I care”

Is this something you would subject yourself to when seeking therapeutic services? Does this sound like a caring mental health professional? I didn’t think so. Ari is undoubtedly the most unprofessional disrespectful and degrading LMFT I’ve ever had the misfortune to encounter.

From the start, he did not introduce himself or acknowledge my presence beyond handing me documents to fill out. He told me to follow him to his office where he continued to eat (banana chips and dates) throughout this bizarre encounter and still did not engage with me.

When I asked when was I going to see Mr Regar, he finally identified himself. When I responded I didn’t realize who he was he became upset. He said “why would I have to tell you that who else would I be?” I responded that since I was new and he made no introduction that it was impossible for me to know this information.

He continued to eat and argue with me. He refused to accept that I did not know who he was. At this point, I was uncomfortable and anxious because of his aggressive and combative tone (over such a trivial misunderstanding) When I asked if we could simply start the session he replied that I should just have therapy with myself as though I was the one exhibiting extremely rude behavior. I left after this.

It is beyond comprehension that this man would be allowed to be near anyone who is in need of help. My mental health was jeopardized because of this and worsened after this interaction. All because I did not know his name. If you are reading this Ari I hope you know you nearly destroyed a young person for simply not knowing who you are. Your behavior is a danger to those who truly need support. If you are a stranger in need of help do not come to this man. He is the one in need of serious introspection and change. I am speaking out for my sake and anyone else out there. PLEASE avoid this person at all costs.
