I found two great counselors through this clinic, one for myself and one for my daughter. After 18 months, suddenly, I received an email from Atala staff stating my counselor would be leaving at the end of the month. When I saw my counselor next, she apologized for the way the information was shared, stating she wished she could have told me face to face. I found the email to be cold and a bit rude. I sensed some animosity towards my counselor for leaving. Then, two months later, I received a nearly identical email from Atala staff stating my adolescent daughter’s counselor would be leaving too. Red flags flew for me. I then connected the dots that neither counselor seemed happy in the work environment for several months. As I had been a patient for over a year, I noticed changes within the office’s work environment based on comments both counselors would make regarding office rules set by the new owner. I would not seek therapy from this office. Thankfully, I was able to follow our therapists to their new work locations. Both seem very happy now.

I cannot say enough good things about this office, the clinicians, and the office staff. They are very professional, prompt, and consistent. The environment is welcoming. The coping and communication skills they've taught people close to me have helped me to significantly improve my own. I am grateful for all the support they provide to the individuals they serve.

One thing I know about Atala is that you never feel judged there.You can have an open and honest discussion that feels safe.The therapists there are professional, knowledgeable and empathetic.If I could recommend someone for couples or individual therapy it would be Charity. She is very open, makes you feel comfortable and seen.She’s easy to talk to and genuinely cares and wants to help people.

After several years of trying to find a counselor who my teenage son would connect with, we finally found James Miller at Atala Counseling. James came into our lives at a time my son and our family really needed help and words can not express our gratitude for the gentle yet incredibly discerning and sharp counsel James provided. James did an incredible job affirming my son in his strengths while also counseling him in areas he desperately needed it. James beautifully walks the line of professionalism and friend and it truly made a world of difference in my son's life and through that, the life of our family. Raising teenagers is hard and adding James Miller to our village was one of the best things we've ever done.
