When my wife and I discovered there was an alternative treatment for our son's severe ADHD, aggression and defiance we were very hopeful it could provide some relief for our son and the rest of our family. His psychologist had tried every possible medication, extensive counselling, testing, etc all to no avail so we decided the high cost of neurotherapy was worth it as we had lost hope in conventional options. After multiple sessions the results were negligible at best, and my wife (PICU nurse) became skeptical it was nothing more than a money pit. Still, I insisted we continue his treatment out of desperation, as his condition is so severe it affects his brothers and sisters and disrupts our entire family dynamic.
However, after an emergency situation arose and I needed to reschedule for the following week I was informed the penalty would be the full cost of a session. With the accumulated costs of the initial scan and numerous treatments, all uninsurable, this fee is abusive and excessively high. Additionally, I have never seen another patient in their office so it's not like they lost an alternate booking. Long story longer, if you are struggling to find relief for your child's mental condition and do not have an unlimited budget to finance a treatment with no guarantee of results, please do not get your hopes up for this option as we did. The staff is very kind, but kindness doesn't negate one's greed. I pray anyone who reads this is able to find real help for their child, I truly understand how difficult it can be and bad experiences like these are a painful setback for the whole family. Dr. Wilson helped me get my life back after I had a breakdown. She is extremely compassionate, comfortable to talk to, and I cannot rave enough about the experience of neurotherapy. If you’re skeptical, don’t be.
