The Drs and other professionals doing evaluations and making diagnosis here do not work with patients, and instead seem to go into appointments with their minds made up that they will not listen to why you're in the office, or what your concerns are. Carol Monroe in particular gave me an evaluation that was unlike anything I've heard of for the issue. And the people I know who have had to undergo evaluations for this issue said that my experience with Carol was unlike anything they had experienced or heard of before, from the questions she asked me, to the intake forms, to the need to weigh me even though I was going in for a mental health issue (it is a mental health center, after all) not a physical health issue. Carol did not take my concerns seriously during my evaluation; when I was trying to explain things she would cut me off and say "let's move on." If you consider your health to be a partnership where you can share and work with your medical professionals, look elsewhere. I'm very disappointed, as I expected more from BHC since I have had such a great experience with my BHC therapist. It was my BHC therapist who referred me to speak to Carol. Even she was disappointed to learn how my appointment with Carol went.

My therapist here is wonderful and I’ve seen her for years. I would also say that 2/3 members of the front desk staff are great. If I only had them to review, this would be a perfect review. But since I've had to interact with this inconsiderate "professional" I have to lower my score.

I view Dr. Salgado not only as my physician but also my friend. She spends quality time with me and truly cares for the mental wellbeing of her patients. She isn’t like other doctors that tend to rush appointments and speak bluntly. You can instantly tell her genuine desire to help people and form what is rare in doctor’s offices- a relationship. I truly cannot thank or recommend her enough. I highly suggest you to schedule an appointment with Dr. Salgado, she will not disappoint and will help you tremendously in more ways than you could ever imagine.

Being a patient of this practice for more than 5 years, I have been through multiple insurance carriers through work and my care has always been maintained. The office staff, particularly Daphne and Michael are always, always a pleasure to work with. Dr. Salgado-Cardoso is my psychiatrist and partner in my healthcare. She genuinely cares about her patients, actively keeps up on changes in day to day and care needs. If there has ever been an even minor issue there is always a solution, and a quick call to relay a message is usually all it takes. I can say that my care is very much in caring hands with these three people. There is a practical and approachable way of communicating with them that gets you more out of your healthcare provider than here’s your script, see you in 6 months.

I can’t even begin to explain how much these people have changed my life! From the way I am greeted by the receptionists when I schedule my appointments at the front desk, to the comfort I get after speaking with Erin or Dr. Salgado. These women are THE BEST at what they do. They always make sure you feel heard and respected. 10/10 is you are looking to seek therapy or a psychiatrist!

Dr. Salgado is wonderful. She’s helped me so much throughout these past years. She is very knowledgeable and relates very well on a personal level with the struggles I have day to day. I would recommend her to anyone seeking help to find balance with the sometimes overwhelming day to day.

Do NOT trust these people. They are nothing but SCAMMERS!!!! They will ask you for a $100 deposit to hold your "place" and will charge your card at the time you make the appointment, not at the time of your visit. If you call to cancel or change your appointment before the 24hr window stated in the paperwork they will say that the paperwork is wrong and will keep your money. We called and asked for a cancelation 30 hrs prior to the appointment and they stated that thw paperwork was wrong stating that it was suppose to say 48hrs even though that is NOT the case (see photo). I will also add that they still charged us even though we gave them our insurance info. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. These people are real pieces of trash!

Please be very cautious when scheduling as an insurance patient. They told me that my insurance was accepted. I waited 6 weeks for an appointment with the therapist who was absolutely wonderful. The review has nothing to do with the therapist I was seeing, it is entirely the office. She was, however, booked to the point that I could only see her monthly after waiting over 6 weeks for a new patient appointment. I received a diagnosis and was referred to the psychiatrist l in the practice because the therapist felt medication would be very helpful which, again, was an over 6 week wait. This time I had to pay a $100 deposit so that I couldn't cancel the appointment and was assured that since I was at 100% insurance coverage, it would be refunded. I waited for the appointment after paying and then a week before the appointment I received a call from the office telling me that there had been a mistake when I was told they took my insurance and that I was now responsible for the entire bill of my previous therapy sessions, that my psychiatrist appointment was canceled unless I wanted to pay over $400 and that they would be holding my $100 deposit to go towards me "outstanding balance." Mind you, this was a deposit so that I couldn't cancel the appointment, that's all. They refused to listen or help in any way. Now I am receiving bills for the full amount with the $100 deposit for a different provider that they kept not even being reflected or credited on the statement. I truly have never been so appalled by how a medical office has handled a situation. I would hate for another person to be put into this situation simply because the person who takes the information and schedules apparently isn't giving correct information and patients are paying the price.

This is not a statement to the staff or all of the practitioners. The front desk staff are incredibly kind and helpful. They have always been attentive and patient to me. The first Dr I saw here, Dr Rocio Puentes, was extremely kind and patient as well. She listened and was receptive to your concerns. This review is specifically for Dr Salgado. The center allowed me to see Dr Salgado when Dr Puentes reduced the places she was practicing, which I still very much appreciate from both her and the clinic. That said, from the beginning, Dr Salgado was very short with me. I do try not to be exhaustive and put great effort into preparing my thoughts as to not waste time. Even so, she would cut me off when speaking and I never saw her for more than 10 minutes every session. Which was fine when I was comfortable with the care plan she had, and I tried to view her as efficient to be positive. Months pass and as soon as I expressed a concern in regards to what she wanted me to do and asked her to listen to me instead of cut me off, she told me I should get a "second opinion" and that we "were not connecting". Then accused me of not following her treatment plan (even though this contradicted what she told me in the past). I asked her if that was her issue to be direct with me instead of not listen and cut me off. She reasserted I didn't follow "her plan", which again contradicted herself, and she didn't even bother to listen to the entirety of said "deviation" so it's obvious that wasn't the real issue either. There was no point in continuing the conversation so I told her I would find someone else and to have a nice day. She said "of course" in a flippant tone and hung up our Telehealth Call. Seeking help for mental health is extremely hard for anyone and carries so much stigma. The fact that practitioners like her exist, makes me understand why I have so many friends who give up on seeking treatment. You are undermined, undervalued, and belittled by many people. She was inappropriately emotional, dismissive, and unprofessional at best. If you are someone that does your own research, don't expect that to be valued by her unless it agrees with her views. If you want someone who talks over you, and turns you away when shes not "feeling it" anymore, then be my guest. I can't imagine what it would be like to be a child in her care, someone less able to speak/stand up for themselves. Did I mention she was always late? This appointment was nearly 30 minutes past and she didn't even recognize this when she did call me. Thank you to everyone else at the practice who was kind.

EDIT: Since speaking to other professionals, I've learned this is technically patient abandonment. So keep in mind she is willing to terminate your care without providing you the required 30 day access or references to other providers.
