Margy is an excellent practitioner, whose vast experience, education and training informs her therapeutic approaches. I have known Margy Bookman for twenty years and have known her in a professional capacity, as well as personally, having been a client. Margy possesses all of the qualities one would expect in a therapist-she is compassionate, empathetic, non-judgmental and intuitive. But what I’ve most appreciated about Margy, as a client and also as someone who has referred many clients to her in the past couple of decades, are her diligence and creativity. Margy’s diligence to her clients is second to none. She is determined to help, and if the routine, typical treatment modalities aren’t the right fit, Margy “thinks outside the box” and looks for creative ways to help her clients manage the problems that brought them to treatment, whether it be to improve coping skills, process grief, manage depression or anxiety or whatever other presenting concern a client at have. She is professional, caring and genuinely concerned for her clients’ welfare.

Margy is amazing. She truly listens, she cares and she's not the type to insist that medications OR therapy are the way to mental health.
