Butterfly Effects in Boca have the best therapists and BCBA. Especially Guadalupe, Andrade who is very skilled and patient. She can gas that she really has a love for children on the spectrum. Shekeen and Bianca are very dedicated to their jobs with assisting their BCBA implement behavioral plans! Great job!

Beware of this place. I had a consultation at Butterfly Effects in Deerfield for my son. However, to my surprise I was charged over 800 dollars just for the consultation. They also charged me for the therapist writing his assessment of my son to determine how much services he should receive. This is not my first time with ABA therapy and have never been charged $500 for a therapist documenting their assessment. Butterfly effects is predatory and just tries to get as much out of you and your insurance as possible. Needless to say I did not choose to have services with them given how their billing practices. As you can see from the other reviews there is constantly an issue with billing.

UPDATE: The response is disingenuous. First, I was never given an estimate of how much the assessment would be. My insurance benefits were not verified until AFTER the assessment. Additionally, it is not market standard to charge 300 for the assessment AND then charge an additional 500 just to prepare the report. A report that has never been given to me nor a report I’ve seen. It is also not market standard to not provide an estimate for services to be provided. Butterfly effects is overpriced and this is not my first ABA provider, unfortunately this is the first provider I regretted going to.

Be wary of this place. The “techs” they send to care for ur child are not thoroughly background checked and untrained. (They only need to finish high school.)Fine in most cases, but we had disastrous results with a tech - who abused our trust and our children. But butterfly effects dropped our family immediately, becoming hostile and aggressive because they thought we wanted to sue, when all I wanted was to tell them what happened so it couldn’t happen to other families with this particular tech and her errors. They broke every ABA ethics in the book. Awful. The in house lawyer guy they stick on you is a nasty man - even when you are nothing but polite - just traumatized. When I posted on FB, lots of families contacted me with issues like over charging and also hostility with same in-house lawyer. The corporation is more concerned about bottom line than the children and families.

I want to give 10 stars to this company. All I have to say about Butterfly Effects is joyous and wonderful things. They have been very supportive since day 1. I had the opportunity to speak with Ms. Andrea, Regional Director, in South Florida. She was able to answer all my questions and guided me through this process. My son has been receiving services, and he has made so much progress that I could ever imagine. My techs and BCBA are very knowledgeable and professional. I contacted several other ABA providers, but Butterfly Effects is unique (more parent training, close collaboration with other therapists, and frequent supervision). I strongly recommend this company to anyone who wants to receive the best ABA services. Thanks for bringing hope to my family.

We had a good experience with our ABA techs in NC however the billing department lacks. We did not know that tracking our Max Benefit of 40k was our responsibility and the billing department was 5-6 weeks behind on billing my insurance leaving a HUGE bill for services already rendered. We never discussed an estimate of benefits to have any idea that increasing days to benefit our son would cause us almost $10k in out of pocket costs beyond meeting our annual insurance OOP of $5k. We have since moved on from aba as we approach entering kindergarten and I am finally paying off the final bill.
We also had changed our bcba changed 3 times and had 3 different techs in a 18 months.... Again, the people were great and helpful, however I'd suggest checking the billing and your insurance constantly to be careful of significant cost racking up.

I chose Butterfly Effects because they were highly recommended. I would absolutely not recommend them and would actually do a lot of research before choosing Butterfly Effects. My son was diagnosed with High functioning Autism December 2020, February 2021 he started services with them and from the very beginning we had nothing but issues. Being new parents to an Autistic toddler is new to me and my husband so we were not aware of how ABA therapy worked but I’m sure it wasn’t supposed to be the type of experience me and my family experienced. We had issues with scheduling, therapist not showing up and canceling the session literally 5 minutes before they were supposed to come (this happened at least once or twice a week)! We had issues with Billing, they were not coding the information correctly and no one was concerned except for me about paying towards our services and we were then told someone in there billing department had been coding things incorrectly the whole time, so we were than sent a 2,500 bill after 3 months of doing therapy, and after me having to call everyone in Butterfly Effects to see why we hadn’t gotten a bill in over 3 months. There was absolutely no communication between the BCBA, the staff and my family. We had issues with a therapist forging my husbands name and submitting time for a session that was not fully rendered because she left early because my son was being “difficult” (he’s 2 years old). We had an issue with a therapist that had my son in a chair with a table in front of him restricting him from getting up, my son was screaming and crying and he didn’t release him until my husband walked in the room to see what was going on. All of these things happened in only 3 months of my son getting services from Butterfly Effects. There staff isn’t all qualified, they hire people train them for a couple hours and send them to your home with your child even though they’ve only been doing this 1 month. While all of those things happened I can say we had 1 therapist that actually took her job serious and really is the reason my son progressed, her name is Aaliyah and she was awesome with my son and we really liked how much time and effort she put in. I am glad to say we are with a new ABA therapy company and no longer have to put up with Butterfly Effects. I would BEWARE before choosing them.

You guys dropped the ball in all areas and have never taken responsibility, instead of stating your “satisfactory” rate why don’t you guys see where you went wrong and make things right! Again beware of this company!

I had a wonderful experience with Butterfly Effects. Jodi & Danielle were both awesome! Very knowledge, professional, patient, and flexible. They worked patiently with my son & myself & gave me great advices. I have learned so much. My son has improved so much, day & night. Even his doctors said that. He still has his bad days here and there. But that is life, it is a learning progress & I am applying those behavorial techniques in my every day with my son.
