Would not recommend, personally went there. They’re very into shaming, manipulation, mind games, etc. They completely cut u off from your family and the outside world, can’t even have a private conversation with family-90+ day blackout period. Some of the therapists are actually good, I just don’t support the way they do things there. Tare u down to build you back up type thing.

I had the privilege of working with Alison VanHorn as my OP therapist at Caron, and I can confidently say that she is one of the most caring individuals I've ever met. Her dedication to helping others and her unwavering support have had a profound impact on my life.
Alison was consistently there for me, offering a level of care and support that goes above and beyond. Her deeply empathetic and understanding nature creates a safe and nurturing environment, which made me feel heard and valued. I am coming up on 5 years of sobriety thanks to Caron. When I arrived in FL, I had never even seen a therapist before. I participated in their Neurocognitive services which provided me with hard data on the impact of certain events in my life. That data allowed me to discover the events I should be addressing in group. In addition to me, my family recovered as well. We didn’t have the best relationship at the beginning, but after a lot of family work, we have become a healthy and supportive family unit. Thanks to ALL of the staff at Caron for a great experience that changed my life!

I came in on a Friday and met with the head psychiatrist. I said that I was feeling okay and safe. By Friday night, I was no longer feeling okay and safe and I told the staff. On Monday, the psychiatrist called me "Mr. Liar" because he believed that I had lied to him about feeling okay and safe. When I said that my mood had changed, he called me a liar again. I asked to leave. They discharged me as fast as possible and would not let me wait inside during the storm while I waited for my ride. Another friend who went here ended up suffering from paranoid delusions about the same psychiatrist due to his treatment strategy.

The healing strategy at this facility includes demeaning, berating, shaming, and forced physical exertion. My first meeting there, they made a patient do non-stop physical exercise the whole meeting (45 minutes or so) because he missed the gym that morning.

It seems to work for some, but it was so damaging to me that I left after 4 days. I imagine this is what Military School is like. Go here if you need to be bullied back into health, not if you need to be cared back to health.

Caron Treatment Center in Florida was a game changer for our loved one. Their follow-up care options really kept them on track and accountable after they transitioned out of residential treatment. It’s reassuring to know that Caron continues to offer support, helping them stay focused on their recovery journey. Highly recommend for anyone needing lasting support.

Ocean Drive is a really great treatment facility that provides its clients a high level of care in a luxurious setting. They supply uniquely qualified doctors, psychiatrists, and therapists that offer treatment for family, addiction, alcoholism, and just about anything else that you want to work on. They also have one of the best Alumni and after care programs upon discharge and connect their clients with other Alum around the globe. The alumni coordinator Christine does a really great job at Ocean Drive and deserves a ton of credit for keeping the Alumni program running smoothly at all times and connecting with the clients. They have several homes right by the ocean for Men and Women, private chefs, swimming pools, fitness facilities, spa, and recently opened a high end detox and brand new office space for therapy and groups. Its one of the nicer office spaces you will see at a treatment center.

I was at Caron in 2016 I have 8 years of sobriety. I would first like to bring attention to few things regarding the negative reviews. People don’t take time to leave positive reviews anywhere, most ppl are keyboard happy when it’s complaining. When you’re dealing with a community of addicts there is a high probability of relapse/od/death. You’re also dealing with a population who are master manipulators and experts at blaming anyone or thing and taking 0 accountability.
This was my last chance to get help with my family’s support. This was the first time I was ready to do treatment for myself and not bc I was forced. My time was not perfect but I’m incredibly grateful for everything I learned and the people I met. There was one therapist who was incredibly rude but didn’t work there long. I personally really hated the casket day, and understood the point of it. I think MVP of CR is Laurie Durgan, if you need unconditional love she’s your lady. I liked the set up of primaries and how each had like a speciality. The vocational program and college success program set this apart from any other place I’ve attended. I hated and learned the most from being put on therapeutic leave for a night. The alumni, buddy and aftercare program had a massive positive impact on my recovery. No one is going love everybody but the CA’s during my era were fantastic. I was a brat, and I’m grateful for the staff who were consistent and patient with me, who held and taught me boundaries and kept me accountable. I would not be living the life I am with out the help of Michael, Brian, Ashley, Ellie, Laurie, Dawn, Lydia, Evan, Vikki, Ryan, RoJo, Terri, Nicole, Pete, Ryan, John, Lyndsay, Jasmine, Josey, Mirsha, Sarah, Jason, Kyle and more. My therapist and the director had my back when sober living tried to take advantage of my grandma and I. I experienced something traumatic 3 years after I graduated and they allowed me to attend group for extra support. It’s also been amazing to witness the professional growth of the staff, I’ve seen alumni become CA’s. CA’s to therapists, therapists opening they’re own private practices or centers. It’s inspirational. I’ve had peers tragically die, OD, as well as get married, have children, buy homes, and start businesses. I’m grateful my family was in a financial place to allow me to attend CR. I’m happy that CR has a scholarship program to help people. At times it feels like a fever dream, I’m grateful to everyone I met along the way. I would describe Caron Renaissance as Community.
