CFCC strives to be a support and buffer for children and families in the community by engaging with children in their language, the language of play. As a therapist with the agency for almost 2 years, I see on a daily basis the need for mental health services for children, especially as we are still in the midst of a pandemic. I feel very lucky to have been able to continue to provide support during this challenging time, and know that what we want most for all children is for them to be healthy and happy.

The trainings that the Center for Child Counseling provide are both informative and engaging. I especially appreciate the wealth of knowledge shared on ACE's, toxic stress and Play Therapy. I've attended no less than 5 trainings with CFCC over the past 3 years and I can say they've truly helped me develop a strong foundation as a clinician working with Children and Families.

After waiting months to receive services they offered a counselor who on our first conversation told me that she was leaving in a few weeks. My options were take this counselor for my child who had been referred due to concerns of self harm or go back in the waiting pool for months longer. Needless to say that counselor was kind but not very helpful. Second counselor SAMANTHA LOFORTE was unprofessional and very obviously inexperienced. She was unwilling or unable to connect with my child and after scraping up $150/week for multiple sessions she attempted to exit her stating she didn’t know how to connect with my child. When I spoke of why she was there she said she had no idea the last counselor didn’t take any notes! When I inquired why that would be she stated it was to protect the family. 🤔

HIGHLY recommend you do NOT use this agency or if unavoidable that you avoid SAMANTHA LOFORTE.

As a parent I only wanted my child to get help md feel safe and that was not something she could Accomplish and put minimal effort. My child is kind, sweet and introverted.

Center for Child Counseling is an amazing agency that is dedicated to help children and families in our community. It is a trauma-informed agency that also helps everyone in our community to become trauma informed to promote resilience and social-emotional wellbeing in children. They have passionate well trained therapists and variety of workshops to help children as well as their caregivers.
