Wow there a lot of negative reviews. I'm joining the concensus as I am experiencing the negative too as my child is a part of this district and has been entered into the special education department without my consent and they do not plan on letting my child go or remove the label of the bogus disability. A disability given to my child for the financial benefit of the district. Beware.

I have voiced my concerns to the district on multiple occasions to only have it brushed aside. It is my belief that things are not escalated in an attempt to silence the parents and protect the wrong doing of the staff. School is supposed to be a safe place! I have pleaded with the chief of elementary to speak with the students and not just the word of the staff. Several students have written statements regarding the staff’s negative actions and they have all been provided to the district. I encourage anyone else effected by this school or any school in Clay County to continue to exhaust ALL options for the safety and well-being of the children.

First day of school and can’t get in touch with anyone! My sons bus 2050 was 48 minutes late! It sure would’ve been nice if we got a phone call from Orange Park junior high or the automated stuff that you usually send out which is totally a waste of our time listening to but something that’s important you can’t send a message out really!!

Favoritism. Expensive. Lack of Communication.

There is a fee for Everything! HS Prom is in St Augustine which is almost an hour away. Ridiculous. HS graduation is in downtown Jax. Also Ridiculous. Field trips are expensive. They have something called the “Safety Patrol” that has some perks when you apart of it, although they only have a certain amount of spots and most are automatically given to school staff kids/grandkids which is unfair to the rest of the student body. When they have field trips they want the parents to drive their own vehicles, even if you’re a chaperone but your child has to ride the bus. It’s a Ridiculous system! Makes zero sense. Also lots of teachers or assistants are on power trips or just plain miserable. An assistant labeled my child as disrespectful because she did not call her Ma’am, she made it a big deal and took my child to the Dean (which she is BFFs with) and they called me, I explained my child is not disrespectful but we are from a northern state where the dialect is different and it’s actually condescending and/or rude to use ma’am or sir. The Dean then replied “I can see you’re not going to back me up here, no point in talking to you” which I responded “I’m not backing you up because I don’t see what the issue is? Ppl are from different parts of the country and we do not use sir or ma’am up north as it is used in the south. My child didn’t use profanity, she just refused to say ma’am. It’s not that big of a deal” regardless of whatever I explained or said the Dean proceeded to give my child a referral and ISS and told her to still use the word ma’am.
I told my child she does not need to use this and we are moving back home soon anyways.
Thank god.
DO BETTER CLAY COUNTY!

As a student in this county, I am extremely disappointed in their actions. They don't care about us students, however much they say. Our opinions just get censored or ignored. Think of the lunch arguments! We barely get anything, averaging just about 4 pieces of chicken that are 1/4 the size of your palm. We get less than a handful a rice, and the fruits have shown to be expired. I remember last year there were multiple expired packs of raisins! The lunch is barely affordable for most people. I know it's free right now, but 2.75 PER LUNCH! Are they trying to scam us? I've tried for 2 YEARS to get my voice heard by the school board. The most I got was a robotic email. I love school. I love learning too. But I don't like this board. They don't care about our opinions. It might sounds petty, but when you are feeding a kindergarten lunch to a 17 year old, that is not gonna do anything. Whats gonna happen when it's not free? Not every student in Clay County has parents that can afford 2.75 per meal. That's almost 75$ PER MONTH. That's a phone bill right there. Add in students want for extras, which are 1 dollar per, and 2$ for extra food, you are paying almost, or over 100$ per month. I understand that Clay County is the most underpaid county in the state, but that is no excuse to leave my peers, and the students in this community hanging. Something needs to change. If the school board can't handle this, then us, as a student body, and our community, need to step to the state government. And if no one can, I will. We need change here. We need it soon. Come on CCSD, you can do better. Change some things. Make school a better place.

Absolutely no help. The lady that was above elementary for clay county was buddy buddy with the principal and took up for the school during a situation where my kindergarten disabled child was hit my his teacher. My child was blamed for it then both dad and i were called liars by the principal and the lady over the kindergarten department told us we should just forget everything and start over. Thats 1 of several situations where both my husband and I were shut down and never helped.

My son was threatened by another student at lakeside elementary I was never contacted by principal or the staff so I called up there after my son told me about the incident it was never reported to the school police or the threat team they have so I called several times to find out why they refused me a meeting until I called the school Bored they set me up with one with the officers and principal by the end of it I was in cuffs kicked between my legs and arrested in front of my 7 yr old son who is now fearful of police for being a concerned parent, there is video evidence of this Assault done by the police talk to Kenneth Wagner Who refuses to show me any video of the incident this organization is a joke And a disgrace to law enforcement Your lieutenant and Sergeant that was on seen Did nothing to stop this illegal arrest And my violation of my fourth amendment rights They charge me with trespassing and I was never Given a lawful order to leave As soon as I go to court and beat this case We will have another court date For my legal detainment False arrest and violating my fourth amendment right The days of getting away with this are over and none of those officers in the room that day should be allowed around the children and their temperament level is way too sensitive and childish
