I met Professor Anna Yu Lee while studying psychology and experienced her as very knowledgeable and caring. I decided to go to a series of educational and professional development events she was hosting over the summer in which I learned about many aspects of the mental health industry, on the community and private practice side, as well as the underlying research that informs multiple modalities of practice. I met and connected with several professionals in data science, clinical psychology, and academia, made new friends, and learned a ton, which helped me in developing my leadership and networking skills.

My experience with Dr. Anna Yu Lee was intense and eye-opening. She is an incredibly serious and passionate professional who doesn’t shy away from expressing herself. While her approach can feel overwhelming at times—almost as if the air in the room freezes—it’s clear that she is deeply committed to her work and to pushing her clients toward meaningful growth.

Although it was challenging, I gained valuable insights from our interaction and believe she offers a unique perspective that can be transformative for those ready to take it on.

I had a great time talking to Dr. Anna Yu Lee. Since the moment we began to talk she presented a safe space to open up & have a meaningful conversation. The office space is so beautiful & the simple act of putting on the slippers helps remove the 1st meeting wall. I also enjoyed the cat poster with all the different emotions displayed, it helped identify what my current emotional state was. Definitely recommend!!

Dr. Yu Lee is a wonderful, caring, compassionate person. She is so serious about education, yet in her presence it always seems what she is interested in is people, even in you, not just in academics. You can trust her to tell you honestly whether or not she thinks she can help you, and to direct you to various other mental health providers locally.

As an Asian statistics, psychology, and sociology major, I find the [Talk] Therapy Appropriateness Questionnaire interesting and helpful for conceptualizing where someone is at in terms of their readiness for treatment. The book selection in the office offers a diverse mix of mental health, education, and philosophy options.

Very informative and organized event! The professionals in this meeting generously shared about their work, resources, and research. I made lots of connections, both with members of academia as well as from industry and private practice that related to my education, research, and career trajectory. I appreciate how everything focused on research, ethics, and multicultural perspectives on psychology.

As a clinician I’m focused on practice development and appreciate being connected to practitioners who understand and support my group’s work in this way. As a pet lover, I find it to be a huge bonus that this practice is pet friendly.

I met Dr. Yu Lee over a decade ago, shortly after she started studying and working in public health. I appreciate that she always offers what I see as balanced perspectives and holds space for others to find their own source of truth.
