Do not go here!!! They make up false diagnosis and due to lack of experience they don't understand patients. I would never want to return to this place as they also broke HIPAA regulations.. Grace was my "therapist" and she didn't understand me or what I was trying to convey, so therefore she made up her own little story and didn't provide any assistance. Cypress please stop lying about patients, and actually do what is in their best interest.. what a shame..

Made first appt. Parked, read signs that said go upstairs for counseling appointment. Went upstairs and door was locked. I arrived 2 mins before my scheduled appointment. Cameras were everywhere so I assumed a receptionist or someone would see me and let me in. Waited two minutes and nothing. Knocked on the door, waited another minute and then called. The gal said she would let Emily know I was there and that Emily would come let me in. Waited another full five minutes and nobody ever greeted me or allowed me in. I left. Emily called five minutes later as I was driving home. She was unapologetic and seemed like she could care less that a potential new client was left to stand outside on the coldest day in st Pete for over 10 minutes with no one ever greeting me.
The next day, I sent an email to Emily explaining the above. When someone is seeking counseling, the anxiety before the first appointment is high. I was about to bare my soul to this person. A little professionalism and consideration goes a long way. I have yet to receive a response from Emily. Steer clear of this place.

Katie and her team at Cypress Wellness are a wonderful resource to our St. Pete/Tampa Bay community as one of the few mental health providers who offer effective and truly affordable therapy. I trust the team she has continued to grow and am happy to refer my patients here.

This is incredibly late, but that's partially a result of why I was seeking help in the first place. I went through my insurance at the time seeking a diagnosis and therapy for ADHD as well as some other serious issues I have been living with for far too long.

I explicitly stated my reason for seeking out this center. I mentioned repeatedly that I was looking for a diagnosis. I was paired up with someone I was told specialized in ADHD.

I went to four sessions, each of which I was led to believe a diagnosis would be available but always an excuse for why it could not be that session. After this happening four times as well as some other red flags, I looked up the person I was working with to find that they were not even a licensed therapist and actually just a life coach. Now I have nothing against that profession but that was not at all what I was seeking and I had made that abundantly clear.

I was misled and fooled. This was my first ever attempt at seeking therapy and while he may have provided some beneficial insight in one regard, the damage caused by lying to me for 4 sessions is absolutely unacceptable.

This was over a year ago, I'm not even sure if the same staff are there, but I warn anyone I come in contact with that mentions this place. May as well post on here as well. It's hard enough to find help, despite what they say. Places like this are just one of the many pitfalls that people with mental health issues can easily fall prey to.

Places like this make issues worse.

They are lucky I have issues with getting things done, because I'm certain I would have had a malpractice case. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

I’m sharing my experience in hopes that it may help someone make a decision down the road. I was referred to work with Katie Schubert after a medical emergency. When I reached out to Cypress, they were only willing to put me on other counselor’s schedules and did not allow me on Katie’s schedule. I did not get much from my sessions with the counselor I was paired with. She was extremely sweet and listened well, but I needed direction from someone with a more extensive background/experience. I only felt more confused and hurt after my sessions at Cypress. I do not hold blame on the counselor I saw. I just needed a counselor with a more extensive background. After several months of no progress, I was paired with a new counselor with a new method. I was excited and nervous. I thought our first session went well but I never heard from the counselor again, until she reached out for payment for our first and only session from December 2022, over 9 months ago. It left me feeling just as awful as I’d feel after leaving my sessions at Cypress. The counselor made sure to get her pay before she even followed up with me to schedule a second session. We had discussed in our session she would reach out in about two weeks since I was going home to see family, but she never did. Mental health services shouldn’t make people feel worse. It’s amusing because they say mental health services are there if we reach out, but they aren’t at this center. That was my experience at Cypress Wellness Center in St. Pete.
Edit: funny how all of a sudden Cypress has so many “wonderful reviews” after mine was posted. Very telling on how business is run here.

I was seeing an intern and she ghosted me. I was doing virtual visits. I logged in to see my next appt because i was scheduling a few months out and all my appts were gone. I said ok maybe she will call/text me but that never happened. Idk if she quit or was let go. She had my phone number and had text me before so I said I'll save some money and she the counselor my work contracts with and pays for.

I have had many positive experiences with Cypress and its owner, Katie! I had the pleasure of listening to an interview she hosted with the Evermom's Collective and found it to be informative and relevant as both a therapist and a parent 🙂
