This has been the worst experience ever!!! They were NOT up front about any pricing They are holding our test results hostage from our Primary Dr until we lay another $900 on top
Of the $500 deposits and $435 that we paid. they charged us again today 3 separate charges without warning. Communication is awful. They refuse to talk to you and if/when they email you back it a one sentence response always snarky and annoyed you are bothering them. Ultimately I just wanted to get my kid evaluated to help him. This seems to be the least of other concerns We wonder why mental health is so bad in this world and when you try to get help places like this just don’t care they just want money. So upset and frustrated I’ll post the email thread of how horrible they are to us as well. Sad part is now at the end of the day I still have no answers for my kid out money and this place could honestly not care less!!!!

My son was evaluated at Dr. Lake’s office for Autism and I was very pleased with my experience. The office worked with my insurance provider and I was clearly informed of their fee structure and what I would be paying. The entire staff at Dr. Lakes office was very professional. Highly recommend!

Very poor service. They quote you one price and later decide it’s not enough. $2900 for ADHD testing! By the way “Dr. Amy Milam” does not have a PhD degree. Too sad I found them on my insurance webside.

this place is highly dependent on young therapists doing internships. So your child will most likely have a new therapists each three months which will really work againsts your child.

Stay away from Dr Lake & Associates. My kids have a primary insurance provider and a secondary insurance provider. When we started therapy in 2022, I filled out the forms with my ex husband’s Aetna provider as primary and my Cigna as secondary. They then billed Cigna as primary. They also billed my credit card for charges that don’t match the invoices they sent to me for the remaining balances after insurance (even with the wrong company billed). We’re more than a year in for them to get their mistake corrected and it’s excuse after excuse- always waiting on something. I’ve spent countless hours on the phone trying to sort it out since Cigna realized their error in 2023. I even did a conference call with both providers and the owner Monica this Spring and it’s July- no progress or update.

There’s been no apology from anyone at their office for their error. No attempt to make it right. As I told them, I’m not the kind of person to bash a business online but at this point what else am I to do. No other provider in the years I’ve been divorced has made this mistake with billing. Cigna has pulled back their payments and Aetna has yet to pay. My credit card company has suggested going through each charge as fraud.

I called yesterday to check in. I got a call back from Brooke and guess what- they just checked with Aetna again yesterday and….. same story- they have everything they need to process and they’re just waiting. Crazy thing is that both my children show overpayments on their accounts (according to the owner) but they refuse to release even that until Aetna pays.

My kids had good experiences there for a long time and were forced to cut ties with their therapists who’d they built relationships with for a clerical error. Sadly the office could care less… unless I kept my credit card on file and continued to be billed whatever random amount they felt like charging. No thank you.

I called last week and weekend and talked to the office manager Angel. I was surprised someone answered on a weekend but I am glad I called. She walked me through everything for testing for my child. I feel so much better about going through with this office because she really showed they care and you can tell they know their stuff. I can’t wait to see all the door open for my child and all the help we can finally get all because of this testing. Thank you so much Angel and Dr. lake.

There was a review from a different individual that rated this place as 1 star due to not caring about patients. That review is no longer there, however I wanted to side to that opinion. My appointment was at 11am. I arrived 10 minutes early expecting some initial paperwork due to being a new patient. I rang the doorbell and sat down as per instructions that were set forth. 2 other patients arrived roughly 10 minutes later, both were admitted in about 1-2 minutes apart. Nobody acknowledged my presence but I sat and waited another 25 minutes. I rang the doorbell again, waited 5 more minutes yet nobody came despite employees conversing about personal topics on the other side of the door. First impressions are important especially at a place like this when you’re ready to make yourself vulnerable. I’ll find another place.
