I honestly thought this program would be so helpful to be but OMG I WAS WRONG!!!! I first applied back 2021 and got the run around JUST TO BE DENIED!! On there portal it says they accept : letter from employer/employment verification but that’s DEFINITELY NOT TRUE be cause it still wasn’t enough for them I got the job and the letter from my employer stating I’m a new hire, my pay per hour etc.. but ELC ONLY WANTS CHECKS STUBS basically and I feel like that’s what the portal should just of said that instead taking me thru all that!! Being a single mom with literally no family in the state of Florida it’s almost impossible to have someone watch my kid while I’m working! I was hoping and praying for the best BUT No. I enrolled in school online couple of years late (full time) but I guess it looked to them as if I was going to school part time online even tho the form showed full time so instead of denying me put me on the “wait list” and we all know what that means…im basically denied AND I KNOW THIS because I was on the school readiness plus(for people who didn't qualify before) WAIT-LIST FOR OVER 6 plus months (was told the wait list wasn't moving) then a year and after that then EVENTUALLY I just gave up. So if your working and have a check stub or two your probably good, living in a homeless shelter OR going thru career source welfare program(child support/cash assistance) your GOOD.

Without even pulling my application, I was given the wrong form the complete and advised to drive out to two schools to collect signatures and return. Come to find out, this is not a requirement for VPK, and yes I did specify I am there for a VPK re-enrollment application. They showed zero care or willingness to help, and instead sent me around chasing flies. Not to mention no-one, other than the receptionist, was in the office until 15 minutes after its opening time.

i am so thankful for ELC, i would not be able to afford Daycare if it wasn't for their help!! THANK YOU!! However, just like the other reviews I've read...the customer service and staff.. not all but most.. are very short, rude and make you feel like you are lower then them just because your asking for help. I've been trying to fax paperwork for a year now and every time i fax it NEVER goes through.. they always say its not their fault. maybe they should come up w/ better options for people to send paperwork..emailing would be great!

Customer service isn't their strong suit, neither is accurate information. You either wait on hold forever or are shuffled from one line to the next, one office to another. Had a guy give me wrong hours and not mention the ENTIRE purpose I was visiting an office is shut down an hour before the office closes.

Too much run around.... ?

There is severe lack of communication. I have been trying for over two months to get my child into care with assistance from ELC but they do not communicate ANY issues until the day of the appointment which mind you there is time taken to schedule everything correctly. I feel that unless you have a CPS case all other referrals and necessary steps are not taken.

For a government funded program by tax payer monies they severely lack in training. I can't tell you how many times I have gone to the desk to ask one of the receptionists there even a simple question and she always looks completely lost on what you're asking her, as kind. as she may be
Going to this Godforsaken place gives me anxiety.

This place is BS and severely frustrating... And from the looks of other reviews I am not alone in these thoughts which is telling.

Its sad enough the turn over of the case workers and how behind they are in accepting paperwork but to have to come into the office to get copies and having to hear the 50year old women gossip openly and proudly about staff.... and then to be unbelievably and unnecessarily rude to the patrons who are at ELC for HELP. Id call into her supervisor but unfortuantly they dont know the number.... unreal. Ive only been waiting for 20minutes without her ending her vile conversation.

Absolutely terrible service! My son has been in daycare for the past week and they still cant get the correct information on the family portal for me to E sign. Every since they switched to online services for daycare referrals and applications their service has gotten worse. I have called them every day this week and no one answers the phone or calls back. If they do call back its with an attitude!

We have gone there the past couple months and they do not do their job at all. Everytime we are told everything is COMPLETE and all the paperwork is in that we needed, we have to call them back weeks later to find out they took our twins off the waiting list back in August! Not once out of all the times we went back to take care of the paperwork did anyone tell us that this happened. Besides that, we have done everything they have asked us to do and yet we are finding ourselves back in the office filling out the paperwork they failed to tell us about all the other times we have been in the office. I'm tired of putting my dreams on hold bc of other people's mistakes.
