I highly recommend Emmaus. The staff is friendly, caring, welcoming, flexible. The atmosphere there is calm, therapeutic, safe, and inviting. Both my daughter and I have been receiving therapy here for months. We've both made a lot of progress. My daughter has learned a lot of helpful coping skills from Savannah. I see her reaching for them in her tool kit often. Savannah also attended some of my daughter's 504 meetings at her school, which was really above & beyond. With Whitney's care, consistency, and advocacy, I've become empowered to go back & finish law school. This is a complete 180 for me. We are so grateful, words can not even begin to describe our appreciation. I also want to state that we do not necessarily identify as Christians. We aren't Bible people or church people per se. Neither my daughter or myself has ever had a single incident of any religious doctrine being pushed on us. That is not what Emmaus is about at all. If you're concerned about Emmaus being affiliated with a church, don't be. Emmaus is located in its own separate building (you don't need to enter the sanctuary or anything). There is plenty of close, free, off-street parking. The bathrooms are always clean.
