We enrolled our two children at Fox and Bear from the time they were babies, and had a truly wonderful experience. The staff has always been incredibly caring and communicative, regularly sending us pictures and updates while they were in the daycare program. As they transitioned to preschool, we continued to receive detailed and thoughtful updates about their activities.

We can’t say enough about Olga and Ciara—they've been amazing! In fact, we recommended Fox and Bear to a friend who's now attending. Although we weren’t specifically looking for a school that taught Italian, it was such a lovely surprise to hear our children coming home speaking a few Italian phrases and connecting with the expat community.

Both of our kids left Fox and Bear fully prepared for the next step in their education—one heading to TK and the other directly to Kindergarten. We especially appreciated the open thoughtful conversations we had with Ciara about the timing of their transitions.

We wholeheartedly recommend Fox and Bear to any prospective parents. We'll always appreciate and remember the care and attention our children received there!

Our family adores Fox and Bear. It has been a joy to witness our son's growth over the three years we've been part of this community. The facilities are immaculate, roomy, and well-lit. The educators are highly trained in the Reggio Emilia methodology and early childhood education, boasting years of experience. We were always updated about his progress through updates and photos. The tuition at Fox and Bear is a great value especially because they include on-site meals. We have formed meaningful friendships with many parents from my son's class. I wholeheartedly endorse Fox and Bear.

After trying 4 different daycare, we have finally found one we absolutely love. Olga and the staff are so amazing. The space of joyous, clean and full fun stimulating things for the kiddos. My kiddo raves about the food. My child is generally very happy. And their is a level of joy and excitement they expressed about this daycare that is really noteworthy. Olga is a really great communicator, partner and coach in the journey of toddlerhood. I can’t say enough good things. I also can’t think of a single bad thing to say. If you can get a spot in this daycare/preschool, you should take it!!

Fox and Bear Daycare has been our greatest gift in the last 5 years. We sent our oldest daughter when she was just a baby. Olga, Glenna, Astrid, and Arianna blew us away with their love, attention to so many details, the community they created for the kids, and communication. We felt like the luckiest family in the world to have found them! I reserved a spot for our second child the day after I got a positive pregnancy test. 🙂 Olga was the first person to know that I was pregnant (before anyone is our family) because I was so eager to assure that our second child would have the same gift of their care at Fox and Bear Daycare.

Throughout the pandemic they were incredible. They took every precaution to keep our children and themselves safe, while also offering a loving and warm environment. They were completely up to date on the all CDC, state, and city rules, and communicated all this with us regularly. By that point both of our children were going to Fox and Bear Daycare daily. Our older child is 5 and loved spending time with the other kids close to her age. They formed such a close knit community between them. She got just the right balance of academic and play time with her peers. Our younger daughter is two and spent time with the younger crew of kids. Both of our children skipped into school at Fox and Bear Daycare everyday, barely kissing us goodbye because they were so eager to be there. We loved the language immersion and it's been wonderful for our children and our family. Olga is an amazing communicator. She sends us regular updates during the school day and is very accessible whenever we have questions or updates. We don't know how she does it!

This place is wonderful. As soon as my husband and I met Olga and toured her daycare/school, we knew that it had the "feeling" that we were looking for. Nurturing, loving and safe. Both of my kids started when they turned 7 month old. They both adapted easily and have received all the care and love – and most days they don’t want to leave :). They are learning a ton of social and fundamental skills while they are happy, relaxed and enjoying their environment. The kids are exposed to Italian and Spanish language in addition to soccer, yoga and music classes that I found very valuable. Furthermore, the compassion that we receive from Olga and the other teachers, is ongoing. We are very grateful for Fox and Bear.

When searching for a daycare for our little one back in early 2015, we were amazed by how comfortable we felt with Olga (the owner) the moment we met her and how relaxed she was with our (then) 4 month old son. Our little "bear" has now been with Olga since August of 2015 and he flourishes in her company. Olga's assistants, Sra. Glenna and Astrid, also treat our little one like their family and have been guiding him through his toddler years like pros. We feel incredibly lucky to have these three ladies caring for our child. Here are some of the things that we feel distinguishes Fox & Bear Daycare from others:

1. It takes place in Olga's home, which she keeps clean and safe for the little ones while providing a comfortable and educational space.
2. Although Olga communicates mainly in English to parents, the kids get exposed to Italian and Russian (Olga speaks both fluently) and Spanish (Sra. Glenna and Astrid).
3. All three care providers are committed to teaching the kids arts, crafts, sciences, and physical activity and often create thematic and/or seasonal curriculum available to all ages.
4. There are a number of parks and a branch of the Berkeley library nearby, which the kids get to visit on a common basis.

If you have a chance to get to join the Fox & Bear Daycare family, your little "fox" or "bear" will be in incredibly good hands with Olga and her team.

Fox and Bear gave us very high-quality child care when we had both of our young children with them for well over a year. Olga is an example of leadership and diligence in taking care of children. She speaks many languages fluently, teaches the kids a variety of practices, and prepares them for kindergarten and beyond. Every time I dropped off or picked up our children, there was harmony in the house and it was always smooth (not the case elsewhere!). Olga and Fox and Bear will also go above and beyond for you as parents to ensure you are up to speed on the best practices of raising your children in Berkeley, CA.

Our 2 years goes to Fox&Bear. Olga is very loving and accommodating with 3 staff members for 12 kids. Olga very professionally provides love, care and good daily routine. They do lot of fun activities, like art n crafts, music, dance, yoga, play soccer, seasonal activities etc.
