I've seen Rachel Thorpe for many years now. I actually drive 45 minutes for my session, that's how much I respect and appreciate everything she has done for me. I have recently decided that I no longer wanted to be on any RX prescriptions for my "issues" and instead of pushing me towards them (like I hear most doctors ) she gave me other natural alternatives. In the begining I was very hesitant about going, but I couldn't be happier I did. Rachel is great at what she does and her staff is wonderful. Thank you!

Like many other people have already said, Rachel is wonderful. Working with her has truly changed my life. She is incredibly insightful and one thing I loved about her right away is the fact that she pushed back on me when I needed it. She was the first person to ever do so. At the moment I knew she was the one for me.

She changes her approach with me based on my needs. When I need a kick in the pants she gives it to me and when I need sensitivity and understanding she gives me that too. I used to drive from another county to see her. Now I plan to see her over Skype since I am 600 + miles away. I have no desire to look for someone local to talk to. She’s the best.

And yes, Debbie in the front office is awesome.

I can only tell you that Riley must be the rudest and least compassionate person I've ever met in this industry. I called to verify an appointment that was set a few weeks ago because I didn't receive the communication that I was told I would receive. Not to mention they were multiple issues trying to schedule and submit the necessary documentation. Her response to me was quite, "Like I said to you before your appointment is for Thursday." This was the final
straw. I explained to her that I was not her 5 year old and that when people are working with this agency it's because they are in need of support and with her attitude and lack of compassion this job was not for her. She hung up on me and when I tried to call back to get the email address of Emily, the manager, she would not answer the phone.

I have seen Rachel Thorpe for some time now, and so very pleased with everything and everyone!
Debbie at the front desk is so kind, she put me at ease right away on my first visit.
Rachel is awesome! She truly cares and is so easy to talk to. The life tools I’ve learned have changed my life.

My son saw a counselor here temporarily and in my opinion, the service was kind of useless. I didn’t receive any advice to aid him and the counselor only participated in short, minimal conversation with him. I understand that he is young but if anything, I would have liked to hear some advice in dealing with or responding to his temper appropriately. I received no helpful information and he did not benefit from these visits. At most, the counselor would read him a book and make him happy for 10 minutes. I’m looking for actual, therapeutic advice and guidance for my son....not a babysitter. So I wouldn’t recommend taking a kid here.

My last straw was when I wasn’t reminded for an appointment and missed it. They’re supposed to call ahead of time as a reminder and failed to do so. I was charged for the missed apt, which I would agree with if I actually got a reminder call. How do you pick and choose when to remind patients of their apt? I called and spoke with a woman who said “well you know, cell phones are unreliable” which is just sketchy. There’s nothing wrong with my phone, the problem is an incompetent staff. In my opinion, they don’t care if you show up or not, they just want your money. I can tell they’re understaffed because during my last apt, as I was about to check in, the desk lady said “hold on, I have to run across the street for trash bags” and left. It’s completely inappropriate to leave the building while you should be tending to the front desk and the patient.

Reading other reviews on here about bad service, I’m glad I no longer take my son here.

I have been in therapy for many years and GCP is really dedicated to providing a positive experience. When you walk in and are greeted by the staff you feel like you are a part of the family. Not only have I received solid therapy that has helped me to look at life differently , but I enjoy conversation with office staff. They also have little chihuahua dogs in the office that are sure to put a smile on your face.

Gulf Coast Psychotherapy is more concerned about making money than they are patients well being. They gave me one helpful tip that I was able to use after a traumatic experience and the little dogs are very cute- they let them sit on your lap and on the couch during your session. That is the ONLY reason they get any stars at all. I would absolutely not recommend. They also gave me extremely bad advice to follow, which they are not supposed to do. They should listen and recommend, not imply they know everything. Please work on your skills GCT- You can really help people if you cared more about them.

Stay away! The Clinical Social Worker that we visited 3 times was self-important, self centered and could not care less about helping us. If I could give stars I would
