My mother has been a patient of Dr. Mary Lowrey who is the epitome of what a doctor should be. She is considerate, compassionate and really listens to what you are going through. She combines her skills as an experienced, highly knowledgeable physician and consummate professional, with her personable and caring nature. She listens to and will work with a patient, incorporating the best line of treatment for their individualized needs. She is also extremely responsive to patient’s calls and requests. Undoubtedly, she is one of the best.

PLEASE DO NOT MAKE MY MISTAKE AND MAKE AN APPT. This place is a scam and they will repeatedly bill you for the same appt. I have contacted my insurance a thousand times and keep getting bills. This attrachment is for ONE APPT. They have broken it up into a million payments now totaling almost 400+ dollars. I am contacting the BBB and I’ll get a lawyer if this company does not stop harassing me.

*UPDATE- after posting my review, a man named Stephen called me within 15 minutes. This same man has called my phone 12X since my original complaint by phone but he was only argumentive with me, being extremely combative with no resolve* As a woman who just turned 50 years old, I'm going through a lot of changes, both physically & emotionally. My primary care doctor of 21 years, & myself, had decided, I may have attention deficit disorder, that's possibly been exacerbated by peri-menopause. My PCP said I needed to see a psychiatrist to diagnose me, for I may need medication to help me. I wanted to find someone my age, who could possibly relate, & make it easier to talk with. I told the woman who answered Dr. Lowrey’s phone, the reason for my call & asked if I was in network to which she replied yes & I then I asked her if Dr. Lowrey diagnoses ADD & she replied yes again. Upon my 1st meeting with Dr. Lowrey, I felt like I had to lead the conversation. Dr. Lowrey just kind of sat there. She seemed perplexed when I told her what my PCP & myself thought. Dr. Lowrey said you can't develop ADD, you must have always had it. (Now this attention deficit is a huge hinderance in my life currently, so it's been a huge weight on me) I told Dr. Lowrey I had never noticed it before. She started asking some questions about my younger years, and she said "oh yes, it sounds like you've always had it but overcompensated with some OCD". That made a bit of sense to me so I asked, how do I remedy this. She said she’d refer me to see a doctor in Tampa, to take a test with him. I was perplexed, I thought that's why I was seeing Dr. Lowrey. Within 5 minutes of me leaving Dr. Lowrey's office, someone from Harmony United Psychiatric Care called me to make this appointment with the Dr. in Tampa. The man on the phone said I checked with your insurance, and the test won't be covered, so it will cost $700. I said that's very expensive, there has to be another way. The man said there was an online ADD test, and that would cost $200. I am not an insurance professional, I don't know how any of this works, and I first wanted to make sure that Dr. Lowrey herself knew and approved of this online test because we only spoke of the doctor in Tampa. I turned around because I had only been 5 minutes away from Dr. Lowrey's visit. I went back into her office, spoke to the woman up front & she said, yes, a lot of people do the online test instead. At that point, I have to listen to all these professionals right!? If Harmony is saying my insurance won't cover the test, & Dr. Lowrey is saying this is my only way to be diagnosed, then I guess I have to do it? By the time I called back to pay for my online test, HUPC had called me 3X (like car salesman). I paid the $200. It took a week for me to have alone time, where I wouldn't have any distractions to take this test. I stayed at my office after closing, turned off my cell phone & really concentrated on this test. I wanted an accurate test, I wanted to see if in fact Dr. Lowrey was right, have I always had this? I made my follow-up appointment with Dr. Lowrey (paid another specialist co-pay) for her to say, well you did extremely well on your test, you don't have ADD. I wasn't surprised, I had really focused the best I could on the test, and it was a lot of numerical questions & patterns, & I work at a bank, I’m great with numbers. The test didn't seem to be efficient in my opinion. I sat there with zero distractions, only having to focus on that one test. It was nothing like my daily life tasks.

Was seen by an NP rather than a psychiatrist, and like others have said, it was like they were trying to extort money from me. Each visit, I’d be overcharged by $200-$500 and would have to spend an hour on the phone with my insurance to straighten it out. Bill collectors were hostile even after I explained they were making a mistake over and over. Technical difficulty on their end and they still charged me for an appointment. The hassle isn’t worth it. I found another psychiatrist.
