We were shopping in a Marshall's in Austin recently and heard about another home store called Homesense. We were pleasantly surprised with many choices, especially furniture. I live in Houston so I immediately checked to see if we had stores here....and we do! I'm checking them out soon!

First time visiting Homesense and it’s like a bigger HomeGoods/TJ Maxx. Very organized and well stocked! It’s owned by the same company so similar goods but it seems more focused on furniture. However still beware because they also try to get you with opening a credit card at this store….I wish the TJX company would stop making their employees push a credit card on customers.

I visited Homesense last night to browse their impressive selection of rugs. A few caught my eye, but I wanted to take my time deciding, so I took photos and went home to think it over. This morning, I returned to purchase the rug I’d chosen, which was originally priced at $299 and marked down to $249. At first, I couldn’t find it, but Gabby, Beatrice, and Jose were so kind and stopped what they were doing to help me. To my surprise, they found it—and overnight, it had been marked down again to $149! I was thrilled! Gabby, Beatrice and Jose were incredibly sweet, helpful, and patient. Their customer service was exceptional, and I’m so grateful to them for making my experience so positive. Thank you, Homesense!

As a former interior decorator, I like these types of stores a lot. Homesense is basically Home Goods on a larger scale, with way more furniture and rug options. The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 is that the upholstered goods tend to be dirtier than one would want. Unfortunately, customers do not keep their shoes off of the surfaces. Some type of protective shields would keep things nicer.
