I went to Bear because of my long term issues with sciatica. Not only did my sessions with Bear help immensely with my sciatic nerve pain, enabling me to avoid surgery, but I was also educated on how to hold and carry myself to avoid more issues in the future. Hellerwork is amazing, and Bear was the right practitioner to help me through this practice. Bear showed me how locomotion and mobility is tightly linked not just to muscle and bone but also to the fascial network within our bodies that criss crosses between bones muscles and even organs. Bear's work is also unique and different from physical therapy and massage therapy in that there is an element of talk therapy involved. It was amazing to experience how manipulating a muscle or body part would elicit certain emotions. Altogether a wonderful experience. Thanks Bear for working with my irregular schedule.

When I had a back injury earlier this year I was desperate to find help that would heal me for the long term. I was grateful to find Humboldt Hellerwork. When an injury is in the tissues and not not in your bones, a chiropractor just doesn't cut it and massage just scratches the surface. I decided to sign up for the series and I will experience the benefits for a lifetime. Bear taught body mechanics and alignment that assisted in fixings other body issues I didn't even go in for. I now walk differently and am continually reminding myself correct body mechanics.
I highly recommend giving your body the gift of a 10 series. The benefits are worth it!

I landed at Bear's office after seeing a recommendation for him. I had been to several chiropractors, massage therapists, and received acupuncture for an issue in my hip, and not getting any relief from the pain I felt daily. After the third session, the pain had diminished by about 50%. I continued to see Bear for all 11 sessions and learned more about my body and imbalances; how to walk, sit and move in new ways. I am now conscious of when and where I am holding tension, and Bear taught me how to release much of it on my own. The pain in my hip is now about 75% less than it was before seeing Bear, and I will continue to see him when it flares, up, but, I'm also giving my body more attention with the skills that I learned from Bear. I highly recommend him and Hellerwork!
