Never, ever would I recommend Marsha to anyone seeking counseling with her.
She was unprofessional...looking at her ringing phone (5 times!) and telling us to keep talking even though she wasn't even looking at us. She told us she was checking to see if it was spam. Why didn't she mute her phone like other professionals?
She even answered her phone during the session.

Marsha wasn't paying attention. She asked me about my siblings. I told her I had three brothers. Only moments later did she ask about a sister I never had. She never asked my husband about his siblings.

She put my husband on the defensive and then told me when I mentioned that we often take "time-outs" when our arguments get heated, she said that was "kindergarten."

I suggested that we use reflective listening. At the end of the session, she obviously wasn't paying attention to me and started telling us about reflective listening. I told her that we've done that, yet she proceeded to tell us how it works. (eye roll).

Above all else, she never apologized.

Maybe it's time for her to retire.
