“Have you ever thought about seeing a therapist?” a psychiatrist asked me seven years ago. We only chatted during 15-minute med checks. I had gone through talk therapy in the past and found it marginally useful, nothing more.He recommended Kathleen Bishop. Her professional, supportive demeanor jogged something loose in me from the start. The very first session, I found myself talking about something I had been keeping under wraps for 50 years. Nothing sensational. Just a set of experiences I had neither fully made sense of nor been able to forget. The next six months changed my life. I have reconciled that part of my past and feel more integrated as a human being. Kathleen is thoroughly dedicated to her profession. Her boundaries are immaculate, and anything shared with her will remain confidential. She was able to go where other mental health professionals couldn’t or wouldn’t. I am much happier as a result.

It was only after I found an exceptional therapist years after being subjected to Ms. Bishop's horrific techniques that I realized how incredibly awful Ms. Bishop is at her profession. Not only is she judgemental during sessions but she victim-blames as well. Underqualified yet overcharges. Don't waste your time or money. It took me over 10 years to even trust a therapist again after the self-deprecation she made me feel. I thank my family every day for pushing me to find a therapist who is truly qualified in her field and dedicated to actually healing her clients. Walk away and find a better alternative.
