Kona Counseling

I've been seeing Shelly as a patient since May 2020. We've worked through some very difficult things that have plagued me for decades. With Shelly's guidance, I've developed tools and coping skills to push through some previously learned behaviors that kept me paralyzed in negative thought patterns. I continue to see Shelly on a monthly basis to keep me on track and maintain my progress, as this is a lifelong journey. I would recommend Shelly to anyone who is in need of therapy, whether it be for major life events or just someone to hear you. She's world class at both.

Shelly is great at what she does!! She is an amazing listener and makes me feel comfortable to share my thoughts and feelings. I can tell that she has been well trained and prepared for her work and she is passionate about what she does!

I would recommend Kona Counseling to anyone I know. Their management is super organized as well as their office staff. Really well trained therapists. 5 stars!

Unfortunately the owners are dismissive and lack basic professionalism making it ironic that they profess to care about mental health. I’m sure there are some quality therapists here but character matters and this business lacks it.

Scheduling has been extremely difficult and unprofessional which is the last thing someone needs when trying to seek help. Emails are sent along with texts from strange numbers with inconsistencies around conversations which don’t protect your personal health information and make it nearly impossible to schedule because availability changes in minutes. Extremely disappointing.

I don’t often write reviews but I had to share my experience with Kona! From my first contact it was so fast and easy to see a Therapist. I really appreciate how she helped me through a very difficult time. I hope anyone out there suffering will give Kona Counseling a try I would definitely recommend them to my family and friends.

I've been seeing my mental health therapist at Kona for several months now and I can honestly say that they have been a game-changer for me. From the very first session, I felt comfortable and safe opening up to them about my struggles and fears. They always create a safe space where I feel heard and understood.Their insights and guidance have been invaluable in helping me work through my issues!

I like my counselor ok, we haven’t had many sessions yet. However their schedulers and their supervisors need to remember that we are human beings and not just a paycheck. I’m considering not coming back after my next session after my recent interaction with the manager. I kind of hope he gets treated the way he treated me, so that he can understand that we are all human beings, sometimes plans change, and we can’t always give exactly 24 hour notice. Hopefully, he can learn to have a little bit of empathy for his clients… who keep his providers busy.
