Throughout my childhood, my parents took me to numerous therapists none of which I ever felt comfortable with. It created this idea that therapy was scary and just wasn’t for me. After a couple sessions with Leanne that began to change. Leanne provides a safe and supportive environment that in my opinion is unmatched to anybody else I’ve seen in the Stuart-PSL area. Leanne listens and engages instead of asking the same boring questions over and over again. I always walk away feeling centered and collected. I would recommend her to anybody looking for a little guidance, even if you think therapy just isn’t for you!!

I started taking our daughter to Dr LeAnne Smith over 10 years ago. We started seeing Dr Smith shortly after our adoption was final and our baby was 3. We had her since she was an infant, but as she was getting older some issues were starting to appear. Thanks to her hard work and dedication to my daughters situation and issues, my child has grown into a mentally healthy young lady. She no longer needs to go as often as we once did. However when something is bothering her she will ask me to make her an appointment to see her. Their relationship has been built on trust, and thus speaks volumes on the type of person and professional Dr. Smith is.
During this time much to our surprise we found ourselves in a position where we needed marriage counseling. We too turned to Dr. Smith. She helped my husband and I threw a difficult time. Her professionalism and dedication to her clients are truly second to none.
I wish it were possible to give her more then 5 stars!

Leanne is by far one of the best doctors in the Treasure Coast area. She is personable, down to earth, intelligent, and extremely knowledgeable in her field of study. She is well versed in all areas of mental health and more. Her approach with things never ceases to amaze me. She is always willing to help you explore things at your level of comfort and pace. Her variety of techniques with children of all ages, is extraordinary; as well as adults, both young and old. She is patient, genuine, loves what she does, and her work exhibits these qualities and more. Life is not easy. Raising tiny humans in today's society with the added stressors of blended families, bullying, politics, violence, etcetera, is even harder; however, Leanne Smith can help you to make it easier and even surpass your own expectations.

I’m surprised there are all 5 star reviews on here. On Yelp she has several one star reviews. It could be that working with couples is the issue. I do think one on one is a different experience. I found Leanne to be biased and very greedy. She would refuse to provide me with invoices for charges until my lawyer told me she has to (I needed a paper invoice for court because she was charging me for things my lawyer did not believe she was allowed to). I would provide her with evidence of my ex husbands behavior via emails, text messages and security camera footage but she either wouldn’t look at it or wouldn’t say anything. I do believe he was meeting with her separately (which is allowed and he has the money to do that) but i firmly believe she “sided” with him. We were seeing her for Patent Coordination which is where everything discussed and dealt with is supposed to be in the best interest of the child. I did not find this with Ms. Smith. We also were not taught nor did any exercises to help us learn to communicate, be respectful, work together etc. My understanding is that this is the primary goal of PC. The only thing we were told is to offer the “olive leaf” which I signed several papers to agree to do things I would not normally do. After a year and a half, I was advised to stop signing these papers because they consistently involved me “giving something up.” My ex never had to “give anything up” because he would simply lie and say I was causing all the problems. I finally had to put my foot down and it was a costly one. However, we have now been assigned a new therapist (coordinator) who is already wonderful. At our first session we were given exercises to work on, a “goal” sheet, and all the rules and regulations of this type of therapy. We received none of thst with Ms. Smith 😥 I don’t hate Ms. Smith. Again, I think one-on-one therapy is a different thing. I do recommend going to Yelp to see other reviews. Her other lower reviews seem to be consistent with what I have here. I will also say out of any reviews I’ve done, I’ve never left a one-star review. I don’t review a lot unless I really like something and it can be useful to people. In this case with something as serious as family therapy, i felt i should leave a review in case it could help someone else.

My wife and I want to Mrs. Smith in 2020 because we
where having marital problems and we needed a counselor. I arrive a few minutes early to her office.
I questioned her on her qualifications she assured me she was qualified to handle our situation. .My wife came in five minutes later. We introduced ourselves to Leanne... The first thing out of our so-called counselor was telling my wife that If she didn’t have an attorney that no problem that her husband would have to pay all the attorney bills I didn’t know that she was able to give legal advice not being a certified attorney I came to conclusion. That is meeting needed to end as she was not qualified especially after giving legal advice when she’s not an attorney!!!
My advice would be STAY AWAY FROM THIS PERSON!!!!!
