My 12-year-old son really struggles with executive function and organizational skills. I knew we needed support. I did a lot of research and finally found Learning By Connecting with Dr. Christine Powell. I spoke with her and she explained what she does, her educational background, and her experience. She had me share my son’s strengths and challenges. She examined my sons reports and IEP. When she began working with Riley she was so attuned to his needs and challenges. She engaged with Riley right away. He meets with Dr. Powell once a week. She supports him as he navigates through Canvas, identifying, managing, and prioritizing assignments. He is willing to work hard. His grades are improving. I feel we made an excellent choice in working with Learning By Connecting!

My daughter adores Ms. Christine! She was a huge help in getting my daughter to understand the importance of planning and organizing and is a plethora of knowledge. Her services helped my daughter to become accountable and independent. Her words were taken to heart, helping my daughter to become an advocate for herself. Ms. Christine’s service and advice helped me to give the help at home and get the help at school my daughter needed. She is invaluable! I highly recommend her services!

I found there to be a ton of support. For me, I was able to work through my struggles with my disorders and deficits in the school setting. Every session was tailored to met my needs and easy to follow. Each time I felt feeling better and having a new skill. I was able to improve my mindset. I was even able to get support while preparing for major meetings or interviews that caused me anxiety. Overall I enjoyed my experience and would highly recommend coming here and working with Christine Powell to anyone whose looking for an educational therapist. I love how she continues to support you beyond your classroom needs and is there to celebrate any accomplishments with you.

When you begin to navigate the journey of seeking out an educational therapist it can be overwhelming. Christine has made the entire process so seamless. She was very warm and welcoming. Patient and understanding. Listened to our concerns as parents and our sons. Christine has helped give our son so much confidence in himself and has helped him see what he is capable of. She is supportive, encouraging and hands on. She helps keep him accountable and on track. Our son has made so many huge improvements since working with Christine. We truly are so blessed to have found her.

I was struggling deeply with my daughter , I was searching for help because my daughter was struggling academically, I was trying what I knew and it was only putting a rift if our relationship. We were introduced to Christine and she has been angel sent. Her skill set and knowledge is beyond anything I have ever seen. She takes the time to get to know each individual , she truly digs to find what is the best approach for her clients , she treats our daughter as she is her own and has given her the tools to succeed. She challenges her , holds her accountable but guides her along the way. We went from a student who hated school to a A&B student. She took off many burdens and has given me back a happy independent girl. I definitely have my little best friend back and I couldn’t ask for more. Christine is definitely someone we admire and hope that she counties to travel this High School journey with us! Thank you for all that you do.
