I've been seeing Lauren for over a year now. I only have great things to say about her. Just got out of an appointment with her as I am writing this.

She's been very helpful and understanding to me. I don't know much about the other therapists, but I've heard great things about Brenda too.

Overall 5/5. I have been much better in therapy with them.

Before covid, they would let you sit in the waiting room. I remember sitting in there. It was nice there. The flowers outside made me feel warm and happy inside.

The atmosphere of Lee's Place is calm and caring. I would recommend going here if in need.

I strongly recommend Lee's Place if you are dealing with grief, trauma, or just in need of a therapeutic update. My experience with the therapists has been great. They do ask some tough (thanks, Lauren), thought-provoking questions. If you are willing/wanting to heal, that is part of the process. I have been challenged, I been p.o. during some of my sessions. I trust the women at Lee's Place. I met Dr. Rabalais years (and years AND years ago) as she worked to complete her dissatation at FSU. I have received a great deal of compassion during my time at Lee's Place when needed.
I credit them with helping to save my life after a near fatal accident in 2017. They are angels 😇 on earth. You must trust the process. Your restoration may take some time. It requires work and accountability on your part.
You are worth it!

How can I gingerly put this? Lori should not be providing services to anyone! She is very judgmental, abrasive, and curt! I had a terrible experience with her! Instead of her actively listening to gain understanding; she only listens to give a ruthless rebuttal. During my sessions, I felt unseen, unheard, judge, and ATTACKED!

Seems to me that Lori needs to be on the receiving end of the couch. She seems hurt.

The absolute best! Mrs. Brenda has helped me so much. She give you the tools to heal and deal with trauma. They also charge based off of your income so that is very helpful.

Avoid this place. They are supposed to be a grief and trauma counseling center and they limit you to about 10-12 weeks of therapy and then you get the boot. I was private pay so no issue with insurance or payment. They just decided (against my therapist's recommendation) that I was done. I was blind-sided with it. CPTSD with suicidal ideations and they terminated because they believe trauma therapy is short term. These people don't have a clue about trauma or grief. Dangerous place.

I'm disappointed, quite honestly. I used to be in the child welfare profession and would refer children to Lee's Place- maybe they are better with kids- but as far as adults, I am extremely displeased. I saw Laurie and she seemed harsh, lacking in empathy and compassion, and questioned EVERY detail of our intake, down to how I came to have joint caregiving responsibilities with my Grandmother *I'm 35 and a responsible adult- that's how* to WHY I would miss my own father when he dies. I thought about that conversation far too long, and called to cancel my follow up, because there's no way I would go back. They apparently didn't get the message, and wanted to charge me anyway. I emailed back and have yet to receive a response. Will update if and when I do.

I'm not too sure how much more you can ask from a therapy business. They are very flexible with billing and scheduling and they are extremely friendly. Their style is gentle-tough but compassionate.
