Life Skills has been a huge blessing in our families life. Addiction is truly a family disease and Life Skills surrounded our entire family with support for our son's addiction. The support they provided our family through weekly family therapy, family alliance groups and family support groups has been vital for our entire family, but most importantly has given our son the best opportunity for success in his recovery. We know that nothing is guaranteed but we have a team to turn to if and when we need it. I feel they have given us our son back and a "Thank You" just doesn't seem like enough. Thanks to everyone from day one until he was transferred to the PHP program, where he will continue his recovery journey.

I was admitted to Life Skills just over a year ago via the West Palm Beach Veterans Hospital. I was in a very dark place when I arrived at LifeSkills Deerfield facility. Their specialized therapy helped me deal with the issues in my life, I was even served with divorce papers during my stay. The counseling, therapy, and classes I received allowed me deal with my circumstances and issues, and feel better about myself and my life in general. I am very grateful for the help I received.

Take it one day at a time. Don't get up to funny business. Focus on yourself, although friends are nice and all, but you are there to work on yourself. You matter most. I've been out for almost three years and I talk to maybe two or three people I met there still. I met dozens of people. However, I persist, and so will you should you choose to better yourself. For me it was about staying compliant with my medication. For you, you may need medication, and you may also need to choose abstinence from drinking and drugs. That's okay. We all have our own battles. What's important is that you know there's a light at the end of your tunnel, and that it's not a freight train headed your way! It's daylight!

The therapists, doctors, and most of the staff are on your side and willing to help you. Help them help you by being compliant, it's going to be tough, especially at first, but nothing good for you is ever easy at first and especially nothing worth doing.

I have been out of Lifeskills for almost three years. Since then I have gotten a good paying job, bought a house, and repaired my relationships with my friends and family. Without the eight and a half months I spent getting med compliant I surely never would have been able to do these things. I'm living proof that Lifeskills can work, and if it worked for me it can work for anybody!

Dani Lozzi has done a wonderful job coordinating the alumni. She stays in contact with me in a very professional manner, and she always has new ways I can give back to the community.

Rabbi Gaines is also phenomenal. Inside the earth there are many things. If you know where to dig, and what to dig for, you can find jewels and diamonds instead of just rocks. The rabbi is the geologist of the soul. He can show you where to dig, and what to dig for, but the digging you must do yourself.

We were desperately looking for a place to help our daughter- who is a Bipolar 1- experiencing severe psychosis crisis. We are very thankful to Lifeskills for helping her get stabilized and back with us again. The clinical staff is great and keeps you informed. The Family Therapy program was awesome and help us develop communication skills to support our daughter and maintain our own sanity. Ther Family alliance virtual meetings were immensely helpful. Our daughter had two great therapists - Dr Despina and Dr.Ezeta. who truly cared and kept us in the loop, very responsive.
