Longwood Psychological Center

Kenny is an amazing therapist. Unfortunately, the problem isnt kenny. It is billing; the billing is needlessly complicated. (3 different charges for every appointment?) Then I am fighting with the billing department for the 3rd wrong charge. I havent had a session in 2 months. I just got billed for 350$ and then 12$ 2 weeks ago. They claim to not have my info on file (but they billed me?). I asked for a receipt and they said they will send one, never did (4 days ago). My wife is canceling her appointments with them. The billing department is about to have a police report filed if they charge me erroneously again!

Dr Quirk was highly recommended. I did all the paperwork and the 300+ evaluation questions. Seeking this level of therapy was a big step for me. My first 9:00 appointment didn't start until 9:25. Dr Quirk asked me 7 questions while he typed and typed and turned his back while he texted with someone. At 10:00 he said, "I'm sure you know my schedule is very full and I won't be able to help you." I did not know. And with that I was shown the door and dismissed. What a terrible experience.

Literally been trying for a month just to get an appointment. Staff is very nice though. I've called every week for a month and just keep getting told that Dr Quirk will get back with me. The drs here obviously don't care at all about anyone. Takes 5 minutes to make a phone call. Save your time. Especially if you're in need of help quickly.

Not a good experience. The lobby/waiting area is nasty: overflowing garbage cans, layers of dust, grime around the edges of the floors. Bathroom was dirty too. Nobody wearing masks. Yuck. The Dr (who is not a medical Dr) ordered a bunch of psychological tests that I'm sure were unnecessary for what I was going through just to pad the insurance bill. One testing appointment & i never went back. Wouldn't recommend.

I have seen Jay for close to a year now! He is amazing! Very easy to talk to and like a trusted friend! He has really become part of my family. When I started travel nursing recently I haven't been able to talk to him weekly like I had and I miss our talks so much. I highly recommend him and the Longwood center.

I saw James Desta, LPC one time before COVID happened. I couldn't do tele-health due to my situation. The first appointment went great, I was looking forward to continuing. But after some issues I'm glad I didn't. I messaged him (text message) on May 24th after leaving my nurse practitioners office in tears and crisis. I texted him asking if he'd found anything out about when I could be seen (because I'd asked back in April for an appointment as well). I was left with no reply for a month. I found a new therapist and decided to let him know after a month of no response when I was in crisis I was going to be moving onto another provider. I was met back with "Totally understandable. Sorry you never heard back from the office. I told them to call you with any cancellations, etc, etc." After telling him, "No no. I reached out to you directly and never heard anything back from anyone." Along with a screenshot from my phone of the conversation thread. He replied with, "I feel embarrassed because I don't have those messages from you." and a screenshot of his own conversation thread showing my message on May 24th missing, but also my initial message from today was missing, but his reply to it was there. Any genius can conclude he deleted the messages to cover his behind. If you weren't embarrassed before, you definitely should be now. 10/10 do not recommend.

The front desk staff are very helpful and lovely people to talk to. If it were not for them as well as well as my current therapist, I would not continue to go to this establishment due to my terrible experience with Dr. Quirk.
