I went to lotus blossom clinic for acupuncture for a number of conditions. From a clinical standpoint, I can’t say whether I got better, but I can definitely say that I didn’t get worse. Acupuncture is more subtle than western pharmaceutical medicine where you can Determine the difference before and after treatment.
Dr. Martin seems like a caring clinician. He had a reasonable bedside manner.
Where things fall apart in this practice is when it comes to insurance assistance. Dr. Martin made it clear that he does not accept insurance which I understood.
What is completely unacceptable is his unwillingness to answering ANY QUESTIONS about the claim.
This is an area where I have a reasonable amount of expertise as I am a patient access liaison/access and reimbursement specialist in the pharmaceutical industry and have been doing this for more than a dozen years .
Out of the thousands of cases I’ve worked with during this period I have never, and I mean, never had a practice unwilling to answer patients with insurance questions. I have had practices that like lotus blossom clinic won’t accept insurance..
The difference is Dr. Martin will not even answer a question about an insurance claim paperwork or any type of question that has to do with insurance .
The insurance company that I work with personally incorrectly sent a check and an explanation of benefits to Dr. Martin instead of sending it to me .
When I called, he answered the phone and when I questioned him him about how much I was receiving and for what dates of service his shocking answer was, I’m not gonna spend very much time addressing this issue
My total bill came out to over $850 with Dr. Martin.
I understand that Insurance is a burden for practices, however leaving a patient to navigate the insurance landscape on their own with no assistance is completely unacceptable and unheard of in the industry. I filed the claim and only asked the simplest question.
It’s a necessary burden that needs to be provided along with patient care .
This is my experience and anyone else else’s might have been different with lotus blossom clinic. However, you should know that this is what you may face if you become a patient in this practice. 👎

Lotus Blossom Clinic is more than just a clinic; it's a healing village where everyone is incredibly kind and caring. Dr. David is an exceptional human being and a true healer. Every visit with him reduces my symptoms and brings me closer to a cure.
