Our kiddo received a world class education from the amazing staff at Montessori Community School in Scotts Valley. Everyone at the facility consistently promoted independence through nurturing care – giving our little guy the structure he needed to turn in to a wonderful human. We're so thankful for the time we spent here – not only did our little guy make great friends – our family made lifelong friends with parents of similar values and mindsets. Absolutely a gem, do not hesitate to send your kiddos to the best early education spot in Santa Cruz county!

Montessori Community School is one of the greatest treasures in Santa Cruz County. If you have a chance to send a child here, I highly recommend it!
Both of my boys attended this school and we absolutely loved it. All the teachers are fantastic, caring, patient, have a gift with children and are well established in Montessori principles. My boys are independent and love to learn and I attribute both qualities to MCS.
Madelynn, the head of school is incredibly patient, graceful, a great communicator and does a wonderful job running the school. Her assistant Jessica is wonderful too. I love watching them and all the guides interact with the children, it's a beautiful sight to see. I can't speak highly enough about the teachers at this school and I wish I could have attended MCS myself! The only downfall is when your years at this school come to close. The staff feels like family and it’s hard to depart such a lovely community and environment. I wish I could keep my boys there forever!

Such a wonderful school! The staff are warm and welcoming. They've set about turning their school into not just a school but a community with a number of annual activities for the kids' families. They can help match you with families near you for coordinated drop off / pick up. There are parenting books available to borrow in a mini-library. Their knowledge and sharing of the Montessori teachings is great- it's never pushed on you, but it's clearly always there and available if we want to learn. The owner / headmaster is there every day to welcome the kids herself - beaming at each child as they arrive making them feel special and welcome.
Our son has been to a different school before where they weren't sharing much about our child's progress, or what they worked on each day, his strengths, or how we can help him. At MCS it's quite the opposite- they're happy to share and will gladly relay anecdotal information about our kids day.
We have multiple touch points at the school- the administrator, the headmaster, his teacher, the assistant teacher- and any of the guides that lead activities through the day. They're all organized, warm and clearly love working there. 5 of 5 stars!
