This program has taught me to take back my control. Not let my emotions or use my emotions to hurt others or myself with anger. Anger is a normal feeling and New Beginnings has taught me. How to resolve what is in front of me, in an appropriately and healthy way. Making sure both parties are calm and are willing to recognize violence is not the answer. This is what I have learned from this program. I didn’t worry about the money, I took a chance to really learn about my body and see what is in front of me. Why my anger was to quick to react to what was in front of me. I did learn why and more. Thank you to all the staff and teachers who made sure I learned a more calming way of life.

my initial review was 1 star due to the fact of understaffing and constant changes in class administrators. Until we got Tim G. he is Down to earth! and makes the classes fun and educational. I now enjoy the time I spend in class with Tim and all the fellas.. thanks New Beginnings! And thank you Tim!

I'm sure experience may vary depending upon councilor or group, however my experience with Tim and my group has been a fairly pleasant one the information i received has helped me in daily life and has helped me gain a better understanding of my situation. The group setting does help gain multiple perspectives. It may not be the most affordable however with all things considered its not the worst I just wished it was covered by medical insurance

I'm almost positive this business is a money laundering site. The "classes" they offer are reading allowed a sheet of paper that reference sites like Huffington Post.
These people are money hungry and severely under qualified. It's astonishing to me that this is the business the Butte County Courthouse sends people to. Then again, it shouldn't surprise me.
I will be following up this review with a more in depth complaint with the BBB.
This business needs to be shut down. Also if someone could steer me to who owns this business that'd be much appreciated.

PERSONAL EXPIERENCE/UNFORTUNATE EVENTS
I had a terrible terrible experience at New Beginnings this business is dysfunctional and this is the 5th time that I've had an issue with them. I consider myself a genuine nice person, and to be honest with you I'm not there for myself but for support of someone close to me. The point of the matter is that we called ahead of time that the person seeking Services I would be joining for support for the initial intake they said that was absolutely fine. They failed to mention that my 4 month baby girl was not allowed in there. So after driving 40 minutes we basically wasted our time. After numerous miscommunication, and attempts to talk to a supervisor or manager countless times and Promises with a call back we've waited weeks to hear from somebody and called back to remind them that we were waiting for someone in charge to talk to us. So here I am sitting outside of this counseling service with my 4 month old baby because they basically kicked me out with no compassion. I'm beyond upset and shame to Butte County Courts for even recommending New Beginnings. Oh and by the way we were about 8 minutes late and we called 10 minutes before the appointment, the lady we spoke with on the phone said that we only had a limit of 4 minutes to be late. But she said since it was the intake they give us a half an hour to take time to fill out paperwork and then there was an interview for the second half hour. We end up at the office 8 minutes late and the lady at the window had no idea who we were even though we had just called 18 minutes previous to let her know that we would be coming late. She didn't have any idea what kind of paperwork to give us nor was it ready. The whole point of us calling ahead of time was to get the paperwork ready to fill out. I can't even tell you guys how much stress this company has brought in my life and I'm not even the one who was referred here. I hope somebody helps this company out or else they will fail tremendously. There are other places to take these sort of classes it seems to be just a money issue with the judicial system, considering the fact that you can get exact classes for free in the community through other companies.

My daughter has spent over $150. just to sign up for the group co-parenting classes. Now she is told that they are no longer doing the group classes, however, if she likes, she can attend individual classes at double the price. This seems very sketchy to me. It's too bad they don't have any competition in Chico.

Rude customer service. Woman who answered the phone would not give me ANY information whatsoever "due to privacy and confidentiality". Would not even tell me if they had a facility in Paradise and what types of classes they offered. I work for Butte County Behavioral Health and they would not talk to me, I was calling for an individual who has no phone and was trying to help them. If this is the way they treat people, they must not need the business! I know the HIIPA laws and just letting someone know where you're located and what classes you offer has nothing to do with HIIPA!

I just absolutely love this place. My counselor is the best ? Mr.Gibbs and all the staff are very helpful! Great vibes all around.
