My psychiatrist is wonderful! She really makes me feel at ease and helps me understand everything with medications and my diagnosis. The whole outpatient team is always welcoming when I come in, and unlike other reviews I have never felt judged here.

I'm not sure why their is negative reviews. I see Sharlene and Tatiana. Sharlene has changed my life for the better and now seeing Tatiana is only making it that much better. I'd recommend them any day.

If Ana Marrero’s “practice” ever came up before a review board, she’d be sanctioned.
Once she’s convinced herself of a diagnosis, she treats everyone in that category with the same pharmaceutical, a very expensive new drug. She actually told me that when her patients were released from the local looney bin (after being on her drug of choice) she kept them on the same drug. Easy enough for her I suppose.
She went to the trouble of contacting other doctors in my network to tell them not take me on as a client.
She doesn’t respect the people in her care in the least, look elsewhere for competent and ethical medical help

I've been going here for three years now and the whole system keeps getting worse and worse. First off it took them 9 months to get me into the system to even see someone. Second off the nurse practitioner there is very condescending to me and smug. I ran out of medicine while out of state and she refused to prescribe me anymore, or even speak to me or my parents about the matter and told me if I go into withdrawal (like I have several times before) to just go to the emergency room. If I hadn't taken matters into my own hands I would've been there 5 or 6 times within the course of a week, and they refused to work with us on it, even though we had called the week before to let them know and they said they'd take care of it, and then proceeded to act like it was our fault.
Getting an appointment is pretty much impossible, I'm supposed to see my therapist once a week and I only get in once a month, even when she comes out and tells them to schedule me once a week months ahead of time, I might get in twice a month.
Most recently I got stuck behind the busses at the highschool and they said if we're more than five minutes late they have to reschedule, a policy they have never used before in the years I've been going there. I also tend to wait 20 minutes for my appointments with the nurse practitioner, (her last appointment was litterally just getting out) and when we got there I had to wait in line a good three minutes and she proceeded to say, you're more then ten minutes late we have reschedule, when on the phone she said 5-6 minutes you have to reschedule I told her don't bother I'm never going there again.

Doing things over the phone is next to impossible, my parents hate calling them because they never get anything done or right. When I tried to talk to them on the phone she completely ignored my existence and everything I said and talked over me and said nothing when I pointed it out, doing the same to my father in the process being completely disrespectful. Always seemed nice in the office, horrible person on the phone.

This is an interesting place. It has government subsidies, which seems to ensure the facility remains intact in spite of barely acceptable medical practices and apparently arbitrary treatments. I have had interactions with other New Horizon facilities with much better experiences, so it is a bit disappointing to encounter the sort of incompetence found at this site.

For instance, practices such as changing medications or not refilling prescriptions which cause withdrawal symptoms if not tapered correctly should not be accepted in the medical community. It is not responsible medicine.

Also, interactions with staff are often met with an incivilty which borders on arrogance. This “we can do what we want regardless of ethics and civility” attitude which should not be fostered in a facility that portends to facilitate mental health improvement.

I was bakeracted here from my school. This place traumatized me! When I was brought here they treated me like I wasn't human. I was merely a statistic to them. The only way I can describe it is "a utilitarian hell". When I was being "treated" here they didn't even help me at all. They force you to socialize with other people there. The adults there acted like they were better than you, they judge you. They barely attempted to figure out what made us feel the way we did, that went nowhere. The "therapists" there were some of the most unqualified, worst therapists I have ever spoken to. .I felt absolutely no better after being released. If anything I felt worse! Now I am too scared to tell anyone about my mental health. So thanks for nothing new horizons.

These people shouldn't be allowed to practice medicine. They don't uphold the Hippocratic oath at all. They insult and judge you and will share info with whomever they please. All people here are just names on a paper to get government funding. They care nothing about you. If you value your time, your sanity, and your health, DO NOT GO HERE!!!
