When scheduling my first appointment back in July. I was told I needed to handle the insurance side of stuff such as finding out if they are in network. It took me over a week of back and forth between insurance and provider to finally figure out what the provider could have handled with one phone call. Now here in October I get a bill from the provider claiming they are not in network. After a call with my insurance company I was told it is a contract issue with between Cigna and the provider and I need to have the provider reach out to Cigna to handle the matter. When i called Malissa answered and was rude and condescending and told me it’s not her problem and I need to figure it out. For a therapy office who is supposed to help people work through mental health issues and problems to have a receptionist who speaks to and handles calls in this way is outrageous. Not to mention she’s not willing to do her job and reach out to insurance to handle this issue that is “between the provider and Cigna” I am now stuck with a $500 bill with no help from the provider to get insurance to cover it which Cigna has said they will cover once this contract issue is taken care of.

Kathleen is a wonderful, caring person. She has the ability to take in information and assess it very quickly and without being to intrusive. I appreciate her willingness to truly listen without judgement. She always has a realistic suggestion to better a situation if you need it and never is harsh in her approach. You can tell she really cares about people and wants to get to know you better. A true heart, and a true gift.

I hired Kathleen to help with Reunification counseling for my kids and I. She dropped the ball on several different occasions causing a great deal of stress, trauma and financial expense that were all unnecessary. The final straw was when I received an email from her outlining how we were to proceed the following week and what I needed to pay for to do so. I paid what she requested and expected the services I was told I would receive, would be provided. They were not. She proceeded in a manner other than what we agreed to and what I paid for. I called her out on this through an email and her response was a notice of termination stating that we could not agree, because SHE was refusing to proceed in the manner that we agreed to. She quit on me and she quit on my kids at a very crucial time without even caring about the extra emotional & financial distress this would cause to my children and I. The steps that I was insistent upon her completing and she was nonchalantly skipping past, were very large factors in dealing with my custody case with my children and she completely disregarded it, as if it meant nothing and then proceeded to blame me when I spoke out that this was not OK. I would not recommend this place to anyone for any counseling of any kind.

I found this counseling place so that I could begin my own counseling as I support my husband as he goes through alcohol recovery himself. He is already getting his own help and the alcohol situation is under control. When describing some past arguments with my husband, Carrie seemed very caught up in past events and details about things that happened as long ago as 12 years. Hours later DCF showed up on my doorstep. They quickly realized there was nothing to investigate and apologized profusely but had to talk to each of my 5 children causing fear and trauma for them. I don’t know how I will ever be able to be completely honest with a therapist ever again.
