Had an appointment with Dr.Cason for surgical opinion. Waited about an hour only to spend 10 minutes at most with him, however, this was not the worst part.
They don't have any screens in the room to see MRI images. We had to go outside of the room to see my MRI. We were talking/standing outside the room, around this station for staff. I never felt more uncomfortable to share medical conditions i have with the entire staff there. Not to mention, while i was waiting for him in the room, I could hear his conversation with another patient. My overall experience was very disappointing

This place was terrible in '09 and it's terrible in '24. I had come here for the same injury to my shoulder in 2009 where they told me i had carple tunnel, came back for the same ongoing issue in 2024 because I unfortunately was referred here and decided to give another shot. That was a mistake. I had my apt in August. They were to schedule me and MRI and it took them over a month and multiple phone calls later, I had to get to the point I demanded to speak with the office manager just to get my MRI schedule which is still at thier facility! When I went to get tge MRI reviewed, they miss scheduled my apt for the wrong day. I will be taking my business elsewhere. I advise anyone who cares about their health care to do the same, because from what i have found, this is thier normal bs.

I had my appointment at 3:20, I sat out in the waiting room for a half hour waiting to be called, then sat in the room waiting to see the Dr. After 20 minutes he came in, without introducing himself, told me I was not a candidate for surgery (I wasn't asking for it, I just wanted answers) he then asked me why I didn't do therapy. I told him the office never called. He huffed the walked out. I sat for another 15 minutes, then another lady came in, still no introduction, and asked why I didn't do therapy. I told her I was never contacted and no one picked up when I tried to call to make an appointment. She said she would do in-house and recommended that, I agreed. So she left and never came back. I had enough of waiting and at 5:00 I grabbed my purse and left. I wasted an hour and a half of my time with no answers. I am very disappointed with this practice ; Dr Awantang and his practice. I will be going to another practice from now on.

I was supposed to have a surgery the end of May and the procedure was canceled by the anesthesiologist because he required me to have an echocardiogram prior to the procedure it had been almost 4 years since my last one and I did have an enlarged aorta. Having said all of that the procedure was canceled I still haven't had the echocardiogram that will be done next month. I requested a refund over 8 weeks ago. I paid them in cash mind you. They said it could take up to 8 weeks for me to get my refund. It has been over 8 weeks and still no refund. Just for that reason alone I will not be having my surgery at Southern orthopedics. I am very dissatisfied with that service. The doctors are excellent. But sadly I will not return to that office ever again

They did OK, still in pain after therapy but maybe it will get better? Requested my medical records and they told me I have to come up, fill out a form, and then return on a separate occasion to pick up printed records. This is 2024. Encrypt it, email it, put it into a portal, but don't expect me to take off work twice because your office is too cheap, unskilled or unorganized to get with the times.

Dr Awantang is very pleasant and professional. He was very thorough in his examination and explained my situation to me in language I could easily understand. He answered my questions and did not try to make me feel like I was stupid for asking them. I really appreciated his professionalism and willingness for me not only to understand, but to have a good outcome.

I have had nothing but positive experiences with the office and staff since the beginning of April. Every time I go in for an appointment the staff is very friendly and accommodating. If I call the office to ask a question the staff answers my questions or if I have to leave a message my call is returned in a timely manner. I am currently under the care of Dr.Crossman and I would highly recommend him to anyone. If you are looking for orthopedic services please give Orthopaedic Associates a try.

To receive great physical care, your care givers needs to work as a team, communicating with eachother about your care, and then following through, together, to meet the goals they develop. The therapists and assistants here all do exactly that, working as a cohesive team with your best interest in mind, listening to your concerns,explaining the plan, and adjusting as needed.
