I was a prior patient with DR Concepcion for several years and was very satisfied but relocated away from the area. While gone I was in a near fatal motorcycle accident requiring several reconstructive surgeries and much more discomfort. When I returned I was required to come in as a new patient and was told by Doctor C that he was unable to treat me.

I have had an ongoing problem with some discs in my lower back for the last 20 plus years. I have had three episodes where I have had needed neurologists and an anesthesiologist to address my spinal column issues. I’ve had a few bumps and bruises along the way, but nothing compares to bulging, mushrooming discs, and sciatic pain, nothing.
My neurologist scheduled me to see Dr. Herbert, an Anesthesiologist at the Pain Consultants of West Florida. On my first visit I met with Dr. Herbert and we discussed my back history and the issues I’ve had in the past and the treatment plan(s) that were used. I wanted to try the epidurals; they had worked in the past and we’ve had great success with them. I had been as good as new since 2018 which was when the latest episode occurred. I was very impressed with the administrative staff when I checked in, very efficient, personable, and nice. Dr. Herbert’s nursing support staff was also on their ‘A game.’ I found them all to be very professional and very patient with us ol Geezers taking forever to get out the chairs, etc. to show them some documentation.
But all of that would have been for naught if Dr. Justin Herbert wasn’t on top of his game. Dr. Herbert gave me two epidurals (the previous two times in 2002 and 2018 I had 3 epidural procedures.) We met for a consultation about undergoing a third epidural procedure, I had been thinking about it for several days, and I couldn’t think of reason for it. My back was as good as new, or as good as it will get when you’re my age. Dr Herbert and I decided it would be pointless to go ahead with the third epidural, but I could if I wanted to. It all depended on me, how my back felt. When I would talk with my friends after the procedure and they’d ask, “How’d it go?” I’d tell them, “It went well, didn’t hurt and this doc is able to get right down in there, same exact spot where I would feel the sciatic nerve pain start when this injury happened. Dr Herbert’s procedures seem more exact, more precise. I guess this doc’s got more on his fastball than those in the past.” Or maybe medicine has advanced in the last 22 years, but this was a noticeable improvement from the previous two, and those were not bad, they certainly did the trick. I have been extremely blessed with my results from the epidural procedures I’ve had on my lower back.
In 22 years when I am in my mid 80s and this happens again, I am going to the Pain Consultants of West Florida and will be requesting to see Dr. Herbert. In the meantime, I will be telling all my family and friends if they need this kind of medical treatment, go see Dr. Herbert. You can’t do any better. (I apologize for being a little ‘long winded’ but I felt I should detail the great work that is being done at the PCWF.)

The wait was not too bad..front desk reception area everyone was kind(check-in/out). Dr. Hebert is great!
However, I did reach out through the patient portal to change an appointment and to get a correction made to my file and never received a reply.
That is the only reason for 3 stars

Dr Justin Hebert is excellent in treating all my bone pains. I a m a very complicated patient but first time I came to him, he listens to all my complaints and amazingly he is very empathetic and understands all my pains . He has a solution for each complaint of pains in my lower back with spinal stenosis, my right shoulder which is bone n bone, right side of my neck and my left hip which is probably related to sciatica. I am so miserable with pain but Dr. Hebert slowly one by one relieved my pains to a point that I was able to travel for the holidays to my daughters in New Jersey. Prior to coming to Dr Hebert, I can’t hardly move nor walk due to all my pains. Besides trigger points, he also injected my shoulder joint & AC joint. Although he has not completed his plan of pain management, at least I was able to travel.i was almost bedridden due to pain but he was able to resolve most of my pain without narcotics . Thank you Dr Hebert for being an excellent physician and expert Pain Management.

I have been incorrectly charged for late payment. The original bill was paid but the office manager hides behind her desk and will not even discuss the issue with me. I am so disappointed in her refusal to resolve the uncalled for charge. The response seems to be a computer generated response. The person who can correct the situation refused to discuss with me.

I started seeing Dr C about 15 years ago. I had 2 herniated discs in lumbar 3,5, stenosis and deteriorating disc disease, with lots of arthritis. We tried many SI shots and sometimes they actually helped but mostly not. My first bad experience was I had a SI procedure scheduled in Ft Walton. They called me when I was 5 minutes away telling me there were canceling my appt. I told them I’m almost there. Another woman came on the line and said Dr C had left!!! I was livid! And I cussed her up one side and down the other. Then she charged me $250 saying I missed my appt!! I never paid it and it shows up on my credit report!!! Awful. But I stayed with him and Dr C did apologize. Now I’ve been switched to Dr Hebert and we have tried MANY types of injections. None have worked and some caused MORE pain especially at the injection site. At my follow up when I told Hebert I didn’t have good results he said but if you don’t have at least 60% relief we won’t be able to do any others!!! What But I did to stay with them.
I was seeing Pavel at one time but then was told I wouldn’t be able to see him anymore. ? We were both Aquarius and had a great patient/ RN relationship. Very weird circumstances.
Now I see just Dr Hebert. He barely talks to me.. no repor at all. He changed my medication and the new dosages are not covered by my insurance. $135 a month that I can’t afford. Plus after years of only seeing me every 3 months…. He wants to see me every month!!! I use 3/4 of a tank of gas to get to Pensacola so I can’t afford that either!! I’m on a fixed income. I’m leaving the practice now.
