I’ve been going to Pair and Marotta Physical Therapy on Buena Vista for several months. The Physical Therapist Jennifer is the best PT that I have ever been to. She has healing hands which is extremely hard to find. If I could give her 10 stars I would. Thanks Jennifer for helping me heal from knee replacement surgery. Tom

Initial assessment : "Great Staff, very friendly & knowledgeable, great atmosphere, easy scheduling (& free coffee ?)
if you need physical therapy i would definitely recommend Pair & Marotta to you"

Follow up : 1st 2 or 3 appointments were fine. Then they started putting me on an exercise bike. The problem with that is i was a 4-sport athlete as a kid & now i have bad knees & severe arthritis. They would put me on the exercise bike at the end of the appointment for 10-15 minutes and it would make my leg sore & painful for the rest of the day. It felt pretty tone deaf, like making a someone with 2 broken arms do 100 push ups and saying it would help them. At the end it was obvious that this place was just an insurance money scam/con and they weren't really concerned with the health of their patients, its was just about going through the routine so they could bill my insurance. I even told them on my 1st visit "i wasn't going on a treadmill", i knew my broken body's limits. Its sucks cause i do need physical therapy, but i need to be a patient and not just a source of income for physicians who aren't even there. Won't be going back.

I have had chronic back pain for years and physical therapy at a number of places. Pair and Marotta are superior.
1.PT’s who actually listen.
2.Clean environment
3.Personable staff from the front office to everyone in the back
4.Easy to communicate with everyone

Easy scheduling, friendly staff members, clean facilities, good programs designed for your specific PT needs. The PT program is changed as you progress or if no benefit is seen in a specific exercise. Definitely recommend for anyone in the south west of Bakersfield.

Everyone was friendly, but I was very disappointed in how they work, or don’t work with their patients. My daughter had her first appointment today and was quickly shown each stretch or exercise once and very little direction was given…..what muscle to isolate, how to correctly position the body during the movement….then the assistants would set a timer and walk away. I watch as she used poor form or got sloppy as she got tired and no one was watching to give her direction, feedback or encouragement. They weren’t checking to see how each movement felt for her injury. She could have very easily injured another body part or worsened her current injury due to the lack of attention. There were constantly 3-5 assistants not doing anything standing and talking at the center podium not focusing on patients. She had a different person show her the next exercise every time her alarm went off.
We tried this location because it is closer to home than one we have used in the past, but we will not be returning. The comparison is night and day to personalized care and attention to the other location, and we’ll worth a bit of a drive. Patients deserve one on one attention and guidance during an appointment, especially during their first visit and their first time doing an exercise.

I went to pair and marotta on Buena vista and I’m so disappointed! It took me months to get setup. They never answer their phones and couldn’t find my referral. Then pushed my appointment back 2 weeks. The doctor said he wasn’t sure how much he could help me and thought I should pursue an ehlers Danlos diagnosis. He said he was just giving me a generic program because I don’t have any major deficits. So then I start with them. Been 3 times. 2nd time I had questions asked to speak to doctor twice, they wouldn’t let me. They only gave me exercises because I asked but kept forgetting and didn’t want to put them in the app. He said he’s not changing my program every week when my neck started hurting more than my back. No one asks how you’re doing or if you did exercises. They set the timer for 3 min and walk away. Then a different person comes and sets timer 3 min and walks away. So if you tried to tell first person something is hurting then other person won’t know. Then 4 or 5 of them stand in the middle and talk to each other. I complained about all this and doctor told me again they didn’t think they could help me and they have to care for 500 patients. I read reviews online and another person said same thing about setting timer and walking away and 4 or 5 of them standing in the middle talking. That person said their other location is better.
