My experience has been okay. The only problem is nurses are trying the best to attend to each individual patients as best as possible. They have to much paperwork for the doctors and their boss. So this adds to their stress to do their best to attend to patients when they need timely attention. The psychiatrist are so supportive. They listen to you. The med nurse is wonderful. The reason people are complaining it is because they are sick mentally and expect to have personal individual attention by the staff. Patients are inpatient with the nurses and all they want is medications asap. Food is okay. This hospital is under staffed at the desk. I believe there should have 2 nurses and psychologist to attend more timely to incoming patients. When the patients are admitted they should be seen asap by a doctor rather than waiting 2 days. That’s the downside about hospital. We get admitted very sick even suicidal we need to be seen by doctors same day no matter what time we are admitted. Nurses wait for their call however the doctors take their time to call back. Otherwise this hospital do their best to attend the patients. Again they need to have more staff and their pay worthwhile.
I give this place 5 stars.

The staff should have better training granted when I was there it was right after hurricane Ian and the we’re under construction. There were a lot of patients and not a lot of staff. They couldn’t stick to the schedule that they made and put on the wall due to lack of staff. And they refused my thyroid medication for a week.

I’m very grateful for Park Royal ECT aka Electric convulsive therapy. It is used for chronic depression and anxiety. The treatment has been helpful to me. I use to get admitted almost 1-2 times per years. ECT is not painful. The staff such as the nurses, technicians, psychiatrists and the anesthesiologist are so compassionate. I now get maintenance ECT treatment every 4 weeks. The procedure is quick. Then you’ll be monitored for about 30 minutes by a nurse.
I don’t feel suicidal like I use to. With medication and following up with your psychiatrist and ECT I give you from my experience, I’m much better than years ago. Thank you to the entire staff especially to my psychiatrist Dr. Asaf Aleem. Sincerely appreciate, Irma T.

I would give zero stars if this was an option. My fiancé is currently being held against his will at this facility. He was unlawfully detained with the Bakers Act. We immediately retained an attorney that let us know about a large ongoing lawsuit against Park Royal for a variety of violations and abuse of insurance and insurance fraud. They unlawfully hold individuals with good insurance for profit. My fiancé was given a psych evaluation hours after arrival and no reason to hold him, according to Florida state law, was established, yet he remains in detention. He and his attorney have requested multiple times to see the results of the evaluation and are being given the run around and denied due to a variety of empty excuses. We have filed an additional lawsuit and show multiple violations. His personal belongings that were brought to him, which included a clean change of clothes and his glasses to see, were denied to him and not given, he has been denied correspondence from his attorney. The facility director is refusing to speak to the attorney or my fiancé. Shame on Fort Myers Sheriffs office for starters, for detaining someone unlawfully off of a misunderstanding and twisting the truth, and secondly for Park Royal to intentionally commit insurance fraud, and illegally continue to detain someone against their will when it has already been determined that the patient in question does not meet any of the criteria to continue to hold him. There were multiple other families at the visiting time slot whose loved ones were being treated equally as unjust. One patient was being denied the ability to even brush his teeth after days of detainment. This place is a disgusting joke of a facility and I hope the court of law does what it is designed to do, which would be to close the doors of this fraudulent facility. If you have been abused, mistreated, or unlawfully held because of Park Royal, I highly recommend moving forward with a lawsuit. Nothing will change if we don't demand change.

My son is here for the fourth time in four months because ever since he went into psychosis due to a mushroom overdose in October his condition has worsened due to noncompliance with meds when he gets home. This last event we saw him more aggressive, abusive and angry at us, having screaming fits. God told him he is damned to hell and torture with the he rest of his family because he didn't have sex five years ago. He believes this to be true and not a delusion and now believes all drugs are bad, even medicine. Most of the staff there is wonderful and have a tough job but I wish the psychiatrist and care teams would do a better job with communicating with family to get a clearer picture for aftercare. We had a social worker that told my son last time to google residential facilities when he is out. He is not able to make rational decisions at this point and will do what it takes to get out and now doesn't have a psychiatrist because he kept telling him after hospitalizations that he doesn't want meds. Hopefully a psychiatrist there will see the urgency this time and that changing drugs is not the only answer, he did great with Zyprexa the first visit until he stopped it at home. I cannot take him back since I fear the next failure and instead would like to see him go where he can get sustained treatment for one to two months until his psychosis is fully controlled but the problem is we are giving a choice to someone not of sound mind.

My son had to wait 3 hours for the admission process, and no one was there at 6 am. I told someone in the reception that my son needs to go lay down, he wasn't feeling well and need to go to the floor. We had been here for 3hrs and everything was done. She answered yelling at me " the patient doesn't decide when is time to go to the floor, we tell him when". Really, what kind of business this place is. Definitely, not patient and family oriented.

I felt unsafe and could not sleep well, I only could trust a few people that were there, and a few of the fellow patients…

(I am not going to fill things out and do someone else’s job for them!!)

I was diagnosed with PTSD and OCD after having a personal issue in 2022 and also Hurricane Ian while I was there 😔💕🌸.

I had to do my own wound care while I was there every 2-3 hours, then plead for pain medication. (Hurry up and wait)

I have since turned in my two weeks notice with a general/vascular surgeon I have worked with off and on for over 15 years 😔💕🌸

I would not wish to baker act my own worst enemy😔💕🌸

Thank you
