Upon admission, the care was lacking, with inattentive nurses who ignored call lights, delayed necessary patient care, and inconsiderate communication from staff, eventually culminating in a frustrating discharge process that left me feeling unheard and dissatisfied. Unanswered questions still remain. I left my name and number for Amber (Director of Nursing) to call, she never did, once again proving the lack of empathy, communication and disregard for the patients wellbeing as well as the family’s concerns, and ways to improve .While the floors may be shiny the patient care is severely lacking, would not recommend, do not stay here!!

My family and I have peace of mind now that my mother is at Port Charlotte Rehab. Very caring and responsive staff. Thanks to all, especially to night nurse Ramona for her kindness, and to Jessica and Josie who were so welcoming during the admissions process and patiently answered my many questions!

Thanks so much to CHARLOTTE RC. My husband spent one month there after surviving a life threatening event(to make the story short) The staffing of Port Charlotte Rehabilitation Center was very good in general, OPT and PT were patients and professional what makes my hubby to getting more mobility and strength, thanks so much( Can't remember their names). But a very SPECIAL thanks to two persons who became my strongest support while we were hopeless. RN Elena Alfonso great professional, who not only provided him with his medications, wound and stomy care but also with emotional support and CNA Whitney who was assisting him every time he needed and treated him with care, always smiling always diligent. The RC, always clean and a pleasant ambience. I strongly recommend this Center. Thanks guys. Merry Christmas.

If you could choose a different place to put your loved ones please do . The staff does not care for call lights it takes hours for someone to even acknowledge it . I have been a Cna for 19 years and it doesn’t take but a few seconds to help someone but apparently for here it does , if you can not take the time or the patience to help GET OUT OF HEALTHCARE! You can defiantly tell that this place the workers only care about the money . In fact if I could give this place a zero rating I would .

My Mom is in the long term care section and tells me often she "loves it here". That means everything to me. She is safe and being well taken care of. The staff is awesome and gives my Mom lots of attention.... which she loves!!!!

I would like to thank a couple of people at the rehabilitation center who go far and above the normal expectations. My momma has been a resident there now for almost 4 years. First is Desiree Holland who is over the nurses on my mom’s wing. Desiree has given me her private cell so that I can reach her for any issues with my momma. I live in update South Carolina and it is a blessing to be able to reach someone when needed. She reacts and stays in constant contact with me after I call until the issue is resolved or my mom is stable. The second is her CNA, Marie Savain, who does all the taking care of her. The love and support she has given my mom is so appreciated. My momma has told me how nice and wonderful she is and is so gentle in working with her. This type of support should be recognized as my family truly appreciates her. She is nothing short of a blessing for you aren’t always this lucky to have a CNA who truly cares about her work, and patients. It is heart warming and reassuring to know my momma is getting the care she needs.

The people who work here are useless! They forget to give meds which prolong improvement. My husband was here four months. He had dementia and no one works there who is familiar with this disease. He could not do anything for himself including eating. However they would bring his tray and leave, never once helping him eat. The pt was absolutely worthless. They did give him meds to make him gain weight so he was ineligible for hospice. He was unsupervised the majority of the time so he fell a total of six times, even breaking his arm and once he got a huge cut on his forehead and a black eye. He was left for hours with wet bedding and clothes as no one cared to check. When told about it they still did not come and change the bedding or clothes for hours.
Do not send your loved one with a cell phone or any good clothing! It will disappear. My husband’s dentures even disappeared!! Along with his shoes and any nice clothing. The last to go missing was his rosary which he asked me to bring him. He was going through some terrible times and this place made his misery so much worse! Never let your loved one go there!!
