We had great hopes based on other reviews. I went through the process of registering as new clients by taking the surveys, having a phone call for introductions, multiple texts to confirm our appointment. My wife and I made arrangements to schedule time off work as well. Only to be met by Richard as he strolled in 5 minutes late then came back out in the lobby, asked us who were , and said he had never heard of us. I reminded him of our texts, calls, and surveys. He was very callous and rude quite frankly. He interrupted my wife when she was expressing her concerns. His poor communication and unprofessional demeanor caused by his mistake is not what you expect in your first appointment. Had he been kind and apologetic I wouldn’t be writing this review. But he was crass and rude. He sent me a text apologizing for his mistake.

Prior to our counseling, my husband & I struggled to find happiness & fought on a daily basis. After meeting with Richard Tiftt, we are able to understand how to truly Love & respect eachother which has dramatically improved our marriage more than we ever thought possible! My now husband and I having been seeing Richard for a bit more than two years. When we first saw Richard I was ready to end the relationship of 4 years and reluctant to put anymore effort. We put all of Richard's assignments to work and were able to speak freely. Richard was a fair and neutral therapist. Today we are happy to announce we are married and continue to use Richard's advice for communication and compromise. We highly recommend Richard and his services. Be open minded and trust in his commitment to get to the bottom of the problems. Are we a perfect couple NO, but we are able to better communicate and listen to each other in ways we never had before.

Richard is an incredible therapist who knows how to get to the root of core marriage issues. He has been a tremendous and invaluable resource to strengthening our marriage. My wife and I were going through some pretty tough times as a couple when we decided to try marriage counseling. We decided to try Richard Tifft after researching different counselor profiles and websites. He was very professional, non-judgmental, non-bias, and he always seemed as though he had a plan, for my wife and I, to help bring us closer together. He also offered us different ways on how to change the way we communicated to each other. He helped us see a different perspective on how our words and actions towards each other can make us feel. I was very apprehensive about seeing a counselor, but Richard turned out to be a blessing for us. I would make that decision again any day. Two years ago my girlfriend and I were on the verge of splitting up because I did something stupid. After begging my girlfriend to try therapy to prevent throwing away a 3 year relationship, we decided to see Richard. The work we put in was difficult but absolutely necessary. Thanks to Richard, today we are married and are using the techniques that Richard taught us every single day. He always listened intently (taking detailed notes) and gave us the techniques we needed to take our relationship to new levels. We NEVER felt rushed in a session (many actually went overtime) and we are still seeing him today to make sure we stay on track. Whether your relationship is bad or good, therapy is essential to keep moving the relationship to higher, deeper levels. I cannot recommend Richard highly enough. I do not understand how he could receive a negative review. He did NOT always tell me what I wanted to hear, and he never picked sides, THAT is what makes him such an amazing therapist!

My spouse and I started seeing Richard two years ago. After twenty five years of marriage we needed help in our relationship. Richard was able to listen to both of us and help guide us along. Through him we have learned better communication and techniques for a better marriage. Richard provided the tools my husband and I needed to learn how to communicate effectively. My husband was resistant to participating in therapy of any kind but Richard was able to get him on board and engaged in our sessions. I would highly recommend his services!
