I'm an engineer, not an English major. Words come very hard for me. Especially when the words are needed to describe my feelings. I grew up in a family where feelings did not matter. I did not know how to talk about my feelings. Veronica won my trust, then taught me how to talk to her about my feelings. It was not easy for either of us.

Veronica got me to talk enough to get past two major issues in my life. She taught me how to find the pain that wanted to destroy me. Then she taught me how to have compassion for others. No one else, in my journeys through this life, has ever left me with such great treasures as Veronica did.

I contacted you at the suggestion of a very dear friend you had coached. I had recently relocated from Grass Valley, CA to Fairbury, NE. Our interactions were limited to telephone coaching. You proved to be very reliable. When we spoke you listened, asked probing questions, had great insight and suggestions, gave me homework, held me accountable, held yourself accountable. Among suggestions you offered was for me to practice "Being Direct". Being vague prevented exposing myself to criticism, rejection, and gave me a crutch of misunderstanding.
Implementation - I asked a dear friend directly "Would you be interested in exploring a relationship with me?" Her response was, "No, I want to keep our relationship a friendship." This still amazes me. Our friendship has improved. I admire her more and appreciate her for the direct response. It's had to explain the value of being direct when manipulation coupled with ambiguity seemed ingrained in my DNA.
