My daughter went to Head Start 35 years ago, and I couldn't have done her a bigger favor by sending her. I still have Christmas decorations that we made together. That's one of the things I loved most about head start, I was welcomed into the Head Start family, and encouraged to participate. It was amazing to watch my daughter and all the other kids that I was blessed to work with, thrive and grow right before my very eyes.! I believe I'd like to work with them, if they'll have me!

Some of the teachers are amazing and some are not as with many professions, but there should be more consistency. The aids do the majority of the work with kids but get paid the bare minimum. They have different standards at different facilities which are all supposed to follow the same guidelines. They do not give breastfeeding mothers appropriate time or space for breastfeeding which is disappointing as majority of the company is women. Overall there are some amazing women that work for Shasta Headstart all while being underpaid and undervalued and do not have enough benefits to keep the good employees there and they refuse to hold the ones accountable that should not be working with kids and do not have the compassion and patience required for the job. They really need to rotate site supervisors to different areas so they can all work to hold each facility to the same standards as each one is ran completely opposite and some supervisors overstep their boundaries of the position and should learn how to do the actual job itself before telling another teacher or aid how to perform their job responsibilities.
