My husband has been in Sarasota Memorial rehab center for three weeks. He had a brain tumor that was removed. The care he got at the rehab center was exceptional. The rehab personnel were so professional and caring. I cannot believe the progress he made in three short weeks. It was short of a miracle, and I can attribute it to the therapists that he had. The Rehab center has the most incredible equipment to help you learn how to walk again. They even have a separate room with a kitchen and a washer and dryer and a bed.

I spent several days at the rehab center following an 8 level neck fusion. Every single staff member was pleasant, happy to be there, professional and fully competent in their job. Most important was the level of PT and OT therapy. It was rigorous, but not excessive. My recovery was clearly their top priority. Correction - my safety came first. I highly recommend SMH rehabilitation following any level of surgery or injury. They have both in-patient and out patient.

SMH was absolutely the best. My 2 daughters and I were in a horrible car accident . everyone at rehab facility was professional and compassionate . We got the absolute best care. Rehab 3-4 times a day. I had a fractured pelvis, broken arm and more and they got me walking . Daughter had brain injury and they got her to where she needs to be to go home for continued recovery. Appreciate all PT, OT, speech , Dr. , nurses and techs. Absolutely the best team’

I got hit by a car while riding my bike last week! Not lucky. The lucky part is I got to come to the SMH inpatient rehabilitation facility after my leg surgery in acute care. This facility is amazing! I am a retired physical therapist, so I have a high level of expectation for therapies. These were exceeded. I had three hour long sessions of therapy ( occupational and physical) daily. These were conducted by highly qualified therapists ( Caitlin and Lauren)one on one. Sessions were designed for my specific needs and goals. Communication between team members was seamless. I was able to progress quickly with this level of support! All the staff worked hard for my recovery: nursing was sensitive to my medical issues and worked with my doctor to give me the best possible care - for example pain management was fine tuned on a daily basis. My lead physician met with me regularly, asking about my needs and listening carefully to my concerns. The case manager, Alicia, put in extra effort to find me the extra help I need for my transport home and gave me resources to choose the best home health team for me! My potential discharge date was discussed by my rehabilitation team well in advance of the date, and shared with me for further discussion and problems solving. All of the needed equipment was lined up by the team and I got help to locate the things I need that are my responsibility. The entire staff has consistently been kind efficient helpful and professional including the outstanding nursing assistants, dietary and maintenance staff. I feel well prepared for my transition home, with written copies of my home exercise programs that I have practiced ( dovetailed to my specific needs), and well explained and practiced strategies for safe home mobility while I heal! The physical setting is also great - large rooms, multiple gyms, apartment room for practice of home skills, and all the state of the art technology to support best practice therapies. I cannot imagine a better program!

My experience with SMH rehab center has been terrific. All of the employees here have been top-notch in their relationships with patients and in their professional duties. Jeff and Colleen, the physical therapists that I have had the most, were phenomenal. My favorite nurse is Andrea B, who always had a smile on her face, and tried to help me with any of my needs. Also, Deeanna from Serbia was so amazing. Marie was also really good. SMH is really lucky to have employees of this caliber. Everyone contributed to my progress in, preparing me to go home and take care of myself. Dr. B. Was also just terrific. I hope I am safe from now on, but if something happens, I would return here immediately.

SMH Rehabilitation Pavillion is the one and only place I will go for inpatient Rehabilitation services. The physiatrists who provide the medical services to patients at the facility are top notch. Dr. Simon, who was my physiatrist, took the time to address all of my concerns and made sure she followed up with me each time we made changes to my medications. She also made sure my pain was well controlled so I could get the most from my therapy. The PTs, OTs, and rehab aids are some of the best in the business. They push everyone to do their best, but never to the point that it causes more pain. The nurses and personal care techs are wonderful. They answer call lights quickly and assist you with any personal needs. The patient rooms are large and private, which makes visiting with family and friends very pleasant. The food is excellent (restaurant quality) with a huge variety of choices for each meal. All patients are served 3 delicious meals a day. The patient chooses and orders whatever food items are most appealing. This was my 3rd admission to the SMH rehabilitation Pavillion and I would never consider going any place else.

Through the expert care and therapy provided by the "rehab pavillion" post ischemic stroke, my body is thriving and getting stronger daily.
My discharge and continuing outpatient care was seamless providing for an excellent recovery opportunity.
All staff (medical and support) were professional and genuinely cared about my healthy outcome.
(I was allowed to play my blue telecaster guitar (unplugged) for occupational therapy!
Food services were exceptional!
Thanksgiving included!
The next time I walk your floors, it will be as a grateful, healthy visitor!
