My mother was just recently in this facility for rehab after a stroke. Let me start off by saying that the ratio to patient is crazy. My mom thought the food was good, and liked the therapist. I was totally frustrated with the care my mother received from multiple assistants and one nurse. Most of the staff is rude! On multiple occasions after pushing the button my mother had to wait between 35- 49 minutes for assistance. Yes, we started timing them. When she into the facility she had diarrhea, and we would have to clean her up because it took so long for someone to come in to assist. My mother was told multiple times that they had other patients to attend too that she needed to wait. I guess our expectations were too high. I strongly recommend if you have a loved one that you care about this nursing home is not a choice. A large majority of the staff are there for a paycheck and don’t care about your family or a patient self esteem.

My grandmother and my father spent their final days at this facility back in the early 2000s when it was National Healthcare of Daytona Beach. Both of them receive excellent care until their passing. At that time, the administrator was Ross Baird, who was very helpful whenever we had any questions.

Fast forward to 2024. My mother broke her hip while living in a local memory care facility for dementia. After hip surgery, we researched local rehabilitation and long-term nursing facilities to place her in. Solaris was the highest rated facility in this area and was also highly recommended by the hospital. We visited the facility and were give a tour without an appointment. We were favorably impressed by its cleanliness and appearance, which was in as good of shape as it was 20 years ago. To our amazement, Ross Baird was still the facility administrator. Solaris welcomed my mother and Mr. Baird remembered us from our other relatives' stays there so long ago.

Unfortunately, my mom was unable to recover from her surgery in rehabilitation due to her very advanced dementia and age. She was placed in long-term nursing care and declined rapidly due to her overall condition. From the time she was admitted to Solaris in January until her death in February, we visited her almost every day and were extremely impressed with the excellent and compassionate care my mom received from the rehabilitation staff, nurses, and nurse's aids amidst a very difficult end-of -life situation.

Having had two parents and a grandparent spend their final years and months at this facility, and having visited and investigated several other local nursing facilities in the Daytona Beach area, I can say without any hesitation that I would not have wanted to place my close relatives in any other local facility except this one, 20 years ago or today. With so many other facilities being run down and understaffed, we feel extremely lucky to have placed out mother at Solaris and are forever grateful for the wonderful care she received in her final days.

It’s been awhile since I spent time with you.
Just want to say OT & PT were very helpful for shoulder recovery process. The staff was responsive when needed and, kind. I enjoyed the Activities offered and, the outdoor garden area.
The food was fine with some selection possible.
Again , Thank you - I trust All is Well. 🙏🏻

To be honest this place I have heard does good but doesn’t my grandma was in and out of this facility & they didn’t do wound care as they should have or took care of her they don’t deserve any stars. I wanted to leave this review for others to see. Some staff are rude. Especially one of the lady’s that sits at the nurses station. It’s a bit hood/ghetto I wish my gramma had better care she has passed on now but people deserve better health care and respect.

Exceptional staff, very professional, very patient and understanding. They were so pleasant to deal with. My family member was well taken care of. The facility was always very clean. We were very impressed with this facility and it's staff.

Kathy's mother was in Solaris for 6 weeks starting February 01, 2021. The staff was great, the food was great, the physical therapy was great, the attentive and loving care was great.. She did not want to leave at the end of her time there. There were visiting restrictions of course because of covid but that was nothing out of the ordinary. Highly recommended.

This place is the worst I’ve seen picture on website must have been when it was first opened. Unsanitary rooms, bathrooms, and common areas not what you’d expect in a healthcare rehabilitation!.. Staff is rude to you and none communicating with clients nurse checking my moms vitals never said two words to her except I need to take vitals. Didn’t acknowledge anyone else in the room with a simple hello I’m here to do whatever. Forgot to lock bed my mother was stuck between wall and bed trying to brace herself from fall after having total knee replacement. No one had her orders correct for her machine to work her knee. Her and her roommate both bed ridden waiting 1.5 hours for ice water or a nurse to come after called. Had to beg for them to Ice my mind leg swollen double it’s size. When they call for pain meds it’s a long wait!… This is the second tome she’s had a knee fully replaced and from other rehab to this was total night and day nightmare!.. no one seems to know how to work machine doctor ordered for her knee nor do they remove it when it’s finished she has to stay stay in the bed with her knee strapped to machine until they decide to come unhook it which causes pain!.. I will be filing a complaint with the state as well!.. Terrible place my mom will be released and home to recover with therapist coming to house and I’m positive we will she huge improvements. Her recovery has been hindered by their lack of care! She was fully recovered last time she has knee replaced and went yo a real rehabilitation facility!… please do not send anyone here!…

This facility is a lawsuit for medical malpractice waiting to happen. The rehab is exceptional, the medical and the facility not so much. The nurses medicate to disable the patients so they do not have to work. They do not "have time" to attend to the patients. Literally leaving the patients unattended. I have literally seen them seat a man in a chair with no support to the point that he was not breathing at all and they didn't care to check if he was alive. If not for someone visiting another patient, the man would have died. They give excessive BP medicine to patients without checking blood pressure first...forcing the patients to take the medicine. Leave bedsores untreated, do not change/clean catheter bags properly, etc. The worst staff I have ever seen and frankly I would rather die at home alone than seek their services.
