I receive BHRS service with the county… I originally visited this location for county employment support services team’s sessions, and have had some meaningful progress with staff over time, in particular working on my articulation and presentation skills.

The county have now opened a new Wellness Center here recently, and it is open to everyone receiving county services. It is a welcome addition. Tea and coffee and a big screen to relax and watch youtube, a place to engage in community activities… calendar is loaded with great resources and community events. Field trips too (dont forget your souvenir pocket money). I will surely visit again soon to keep you all posted.

Stanislaus county and BHRS should be ashamed of themselves. They should open The Genesis Methadone Program again right now. We need a NONPROFIT METHADONE clinic in Modesto who actually cares about their patients like Genesis did.

They closed Genesis because BHRS said it was to "challenging" to move them to another building somewhere else because NTP licensing is a little complicated. That's just laziness. Being an addict is challenging... Applying for a NTP license is a lot easier. This is ridiculous. BHRS called closing Genesis a "management decision." WOW.

Closing this program was a horrible decision. Who in their right mind would close a good program that has been treating addicts with dignity and respect since January 1983. Especially during a MASSIVE FENTANYL EPIDEMIC that is rocking this county with destruction

I'm so disappointed in some of the higher up employees at BHRS. They seem to care more about having their name tied into a new mental health "one stop shop" facility. When in reality both programs could co-existing together. Mental Health and addiction services always go hand in hand. Both in the same medical building together?

Suboxone doesn't always take away withdrawal symptoms because of it's ceiling effect. Methadone is much better for a severe fentanyl addiction.

Genesis didn't really cost Stanislaus County any extra money because every patient either paid cash or had some sort of health insurance that paid for their addiction services.

I can't believe such a wonderful program was DESTROYED by 5 county supervisors in a temp job were they could be voted out during any election and Genesis would still be closed years after these supervisors are long gone. Channce Condit is the only supervisor who seems to care. Closing Genesis shows they still don't get it yet.

Closing the Genesis Methadone Program was a huge mistake. This mistake shows that Stanislaus County doesn't really care about us.

Lori Sims is horrible! I don’t know how she works as a mental health coordinator with an ugly heart she has. Clearly you can tell she doesn’t enjoy her job, just a forced degree. Horrible horrible! Will never recommend anyone to her, RUN and find someone else.
